For those that complain about Rod Bramblett, listen to MSU radio call

Michigan's radio play by play guy's call is in the link too.
Both sound incredibly amateur in both sound quality and the actual call itself.
Bramblett's calls of both the Miracle in Jordan Hare and especially the Kick 6 got played all over national TV so much they're more synonymous with the plays than the TV broadcast call and are iconic now. Nobody is going want to play that crap when they show Michigan State's play.
Bramblett and Stan White at their worse shite bricks around both Michigan State and Michigan's radio color guys. Be grateful for what we have.

A lot of it is more unfairly comparing him to Fyffe. Trust me, it happens. Used to be fairly common before November 2013 too.

I actually enjoy Rod. Though I don't listen to him often. Some people bash him, but his Kick 6 call to me was awesome.

My problem with Rod is not his enthusiasm or ability to make a memorable call on a big play. If you actually try to follow the flow of the game with the radio only, he makes it difficult. He doesn't describe the play until after it's over. It's odd too, because he's better at it during basketball season.

I can see that. its almost like he watches every play and tries to give you a recap afterwards. i have no prob with rod, just always annoyed at the other guy's ( dont give a frick if he was a QB before i was in grade school, hes still " the other guy") condescending attitude and over eagerness to tell us all " we're in the nascar"

Auburn people used to complain about Rod all the time in the beginning. They have become less and less as the years have passed. 2013 may have extinguished that forever.
Nonetheless if there is a fan base that can find anything to bitch and complain about it's Auburn.

Fyfe was better, but Rod is certainly more than capable and a good announcer in his own right.
Also Stan > Charlie.

Yeah, this pretty much. His calls for the kick 6 and prayer were fantastic though.
I will give Rod credit though, he has improved tremendously since he started out. He's pretty solid now. He and Stan are definitely better than most CFB crews these days.
But then few could paint a picture of what was going on during the game like Fyffe did, and that's Rod's biggest weakness IMO.

Few can paint a picture like Jim or a lot of other old school announcers for a simple reason. Those guys developed their skills in an age where radio was at one point the dominant medium. Without every game being on television, the ability to describe in detail or to paint a picture of what's going on during a particular play was crucial. It's a lot different now. I think Rod does a good job of describing the action ( better than most) but I think he is also aware that a lot of people are watching the game while listening to the broadcast. The need to describe in detail everything going on during a particular play just isn't necessary.

My only criticism of Bramblett is that he is so incredibly biased.
For example, A play against Jax St he says "Shon Coleman did a great job blocking and disengaging before committing a hold" Saw the replay and Coleman held then straight up tackled Lamichael Fanning

Charlie wasn't bad, he was just too nice. I like it that Stan doesn't take any shite from the refs and calls them out on it. Charlie never would do that.
