Coach who get be an intriguing option for #UConn: #Auburn OC Rhett Lashlee. Bright offensive guy with some ties to the AD there.

Just don't see that happening. Being the football coach at UCONN is like being the women's basketball coach at bama.

Agreed. Don't see him making that move. It's a dead end job in a cold northern state.

Coaching at UConn looks legit for a first time HC

-Pays $1.5-2mil
-Low expectations
-Low competition level
-Winnning 8 games is a miracle

Matthew Stevens, some Auburn beat reporter, mentioned the possibility on twitter yesterday. There goes Gatewood.

They were in a BCS bowl just a few short years ago. You are obviously confusing Uconn for Akron... Uconn is a great job to start out.

Why can't we just sign up the old bastard himself?

Lashlee's stock as a HC will increase if Stidham produces like we all hope he will.

Saw this on the twitters. Unrelated to the
Uconn job, still focused on Lashlee.

Art can serve as a QB consultant behind the scenes while he battles back against his slanderers in the court system.

He was passed over for the Georgia State job no way UCONN wants him

I heard he didn't want it because it was a pay cut

This is what I'm thinking as well. I think the ties to DB is the only justification of throwing him into the mix.

Not sure why people thing UConn is a bad gig. If he win 8-9 games/year, he is in the running for middle tier P5 jobs

Even if Stidham becomes superman, Lashlee isn't going to get some great offer

I agree, if Sean became some crazy superman maybe....but Stidham is pretty much assumed to be the next best thing to sliced bread for us and many others.

6 years and 2 coaches ago. They also kind of fell into that bowl with an 8-5 record because of a terrible Big East then. I think it would be a terrible landing spot for him as a first HC gig. Needs to stay in southeast where he has some recruiting connections

Because starting out at a school like Southern Miss is so important these days. Lashlee has been here for several years now and his connections are set.. All he has to do is utilize them from up north just like Urban Meyer did.
