It would be pure stupidity for Carl Lawson to take a snap this year

Agree. If this was game 5, I would say go for it. Not at the end like this.

I have been saying it all year. He needs to be concerned with getting 100% next year and having a great season. Another injury right now could be devastating to his college career.

There is not much to play for from here out.

Let him heal, lets get ready for next year

Carl is at 95%, had we beat TAMU, he would have played. Better for him to sit out.

If we still had a shot for a title I would say put him in. But now, there's no real point.

If he's healthy enough and good enough to disrupt the Bama backfield, play his arse.

He's gone after next year anyway.

WTF? If he gives us a better chance to ruin our arch rivals season i say do it. Auburn has not looked great recently, but you guys forget that we beat the same team that beat Bama at home. This is not 2012 and Blake Sims is beatable. And again, Carl will be gone after next year anyway.

I would rather have him totally healthy going into bowl prep/spring practice. Also, I'm sure he's in shape, but not game shape and don't know how much he could play. Not worth the risk imho

Only the biggest game of the season. If he's near 100% then play his arse.

Why? If he's healed and rehabbed, there's no value in waiting until next year. You only heal to a certain point, and all he'd do is lose more game speed. If Andrews says he's good, I'm all for it.

If he is healed, rehabbed, ready to go, and can help us, you play him.

I doubt all of those factors are present though. Even if he is 100% and ready to go I'm not sure he can help us much in one game. Have to figure too much rust to shake off, playing with and within a unit he hasn't played with all year, etc.

Coaches and Carl will make the appropriate decision for all parties involved. Doesn't matter to me either way. If he plays it would probably just be situationally and not that much regardless.

this man would disagree

ETA: he wasnt 100% and he made all the difference. If Carl can go, he should go

Do you think this guy, who has been injured the entire season and has not take one single snap of football in over a year, is gong to come in to the Alabama game and make some kind of impact?

You guys know less about football than I thought.

Carl would be pushing the timeframe of what most people have for rehabbing his injury. No way he is back to near 100%. If he goes out there and injuries himself, he could be done with football.

Sorry, I would not risk that just to possibly help us keep from going 8-4 instead of 9-3. I dont care who it is against.

As long as he wears his knee brace he should be fine. Guys get multiple ACL injuries 12-18 months after they continue sports activities without their brace. I have to think at this point of the year most of our team isn't 100%.

Kirk Gibson didn't have a finite number of seasons that he could play. I know that it is far-fetched to think that we keep Lawson for 5 years playing 4, but right now. it's possible.

No way I would play Lawson this year. His health / career is more important than risking another injury just to record a few sacks in a blowout loss to Bama.
