The one bright spot of our offense seems to be Peyton Barber. The bellcow for our offense has 100yd games in 3/4 contests, the only exception LSU where he was inexplicably forgotten with only 7 carries.

It is clear that Gus & Co don't see Barber as their first choice at RB. He doesn't have that big play explosion of Roc/KJ.

Does Peyton Barber risk staying another year and getting buried on the depth chart or does he go pro and at least make some money?

I doubt he will be drafted after this year. But he is on pace for 1300 yards this year.

If he keeps it up, he can catch out of the backfield and has been solid for us with pass protection. I can definitely see him being a 6-7 RD draft pick kind of guy

If he comes back next year, he is going to be at best splitting carries with KJ/Roc/Jovon

Impact play = play resulting in 1st down or TD

I love Barber and I think his ability to get to the 1st down marker is amazing. That being said, he doesn't seem to have that 25+ yard carry explosion. He isn't running away from anyone

I think he has up to this point been shafted by the staff. They mess up his rhythm and it seems like they are trying their best to get one of the other guys going instead of relying on him.

Why wouldn't he be if he stays healthy and continues to play the way he has been?

I don't think so, he seems a bit too slow to be an early entry back. Anyone know his legitimate 40 time?

Just curious, and I swear this is not a rustle post, but did Brandon Jacobs have the "break away-explosive" potential? He was pretty good in the NFL.

I absolutely love this young man's heart (I will not say kid). He is a solid young man that has put this team on his back. I hope we feed him and let him get 100+ a game grinding it out. Work ethic and playing to the whistle has gone the way of the dinosaur and this young man gets it.

Team feed him the ball.

He lacks real explosiveness that is needed in the NFL. I'm not saying that he couldn't be an NFL back, because he can. I expect him to make a practice squad but I doubt he gets drafted THIS year.
