Does everyone remember former QB recruit Kai Locksley?

Locksley was a four-star dual-threat quarterback prospect for the 2015 cycle. He took a redshirt last season. With freshman Shane Buechele digging in the heels of his cowboy boots to start this season and possibly beyond, the 6-foot-4, 185-pound Locksley will join Jerrod Heard as a quarterback-turned-wideout for the 2016 incarnation of Texas. He actually played wideout just two years ago in the Under Armour All-America Game, so this won't be his first taste of the position. Neither Heard nor Locksley makes for a fantasy target in the majority of formats, simply because they are unknown quantities at the position heading into next weekend's date with Notre Dame.

As high schools continue to put the best athlete at QB regardless of his ability to play the position at the next level we will continue to see this happening I believe

Does Gus and crew have the capacity to evaluate qb talent ?

We DID recruit him. We went all in for him. Like SO many other of the top QBs on our board, he went somewhere else.
Just like Torrence Gibson...we went all in on him. Thought we had a chance on signing day, slim chance, but a chance nonetheless. What's he doing now? Playing WR for Ohio State.

We started out recruiting Gibson as QB, but had shifted it to athlete by the time signing day had rolled around.
