Did we ever get a legit fb on the team?

I know this could be googled but y'all may have more insight. I remember us commenting last season how noticably absent Jay was and was wondering if the coaches agreed.

I haven't paid much attention to them but Pettway calling a fair catch on the kickoff almost killed me

I haven't been paying much attention (obviously) as to whether or not we've been using him much; primarily because I haven't thought about it until now. I'm gonna start paying more attention starting next week.

He has caught a few passes out of the back field.

I'm more interested in his participation in runs. Prosch was a big part of Mason being good for almost guaranteed 3-5 yards imo.

I have seen Pettaway (sp?) more when we were running.

Thanks. I wonder why we choose to go back and forth. Seems having one capable of both would inject more doubt into the offense. Oh well.

Pettway was a bright spot until the kickoff fair catch. Cox had some nice blocks too

I think Cox will be very good. He's just young.

Why is everybody so hard on pettway for the fair catch? It could have been much worst than he marked the possession dead at the spot where he fielded the ball. It is not like we were expecting him to get very far anyway and he may not be comfortable carrying the ball. If anything, bitch about other things like Carlsons kick when he is on scholarship to boot the ball through the endzone.
