Lance is shutting down a top 5 quarterback in this year's draft. I would much rather have him than Roof or Steele. It appears that Diaz is staying with MSST, and Grantham or Allen aren't popular picks..... With that being said, why in the fk are we not handing LT the keys at this point?

Hopefully we are. The best thing about that would be continuity.

I think we will at this point.

We would save a shite ton of money by doing so. Bump him to $650 or $700k and call it a day

Time to stop fricking around and name LT to DC. JUCO QB coming in. We back.

LT is doing an awesome job but hard to judge interim performance in a bowl game. Scot Loeffler put up 50 points for UF in the Sugar Bowl as interim OC/Playcaller
I would much rather hire LT than the names we have been kicking around and he would be cheaper.

Someone posted on the rant that Steele is staying.

I think we will. If you hire him before the game and then we get blown out it looks bad.
Might as well give him a tryout before giving it to him.

I agree that it's hard to judge interim coaches based on bowl performance,... But our D looks good, and Paxton Lynch is the truth. LT would hold our class together, keep the same scheme, and kill it in recruiting going forward...
Gus will DEFINITELY fk this up

Then would we need a secondary coach and one more?

I'm good with LT. I was good with him before this embarrassing search. Today adds proof to the fact that he can do the job.

I don't like one game auditions, but he was already considered a half decent fallback so whatever. Certainly earned the consideration today.

If we hired Thompson, I would just want to hire a Co-DC. Either an up and coming position coach who needs experience or elite position coach we try to pull like Craig Kuligowski.
I think for LT to be successful, he'll need to be surrounded by great position coaches.

Another thing to consider...
We didn't give up ANY pts second half. LT actually made adjustments at the half, and pitched a shutout. This is the fewest points that UM has scored all year,... With a hell of a quarterback!

That was a solid defensive gameplan, I'm honestly impressed/surprised at how the defense played and how well the defense adjusted. Good win

Jack Curtis from Ga. Southern as Co- DC. Do it.

You do know the performance of a bowl game is a terrible barometer when it comes to deciding whether or not to hire a coach, right?
It's the equivalent of folks having kneejerk reactions to the mid-majors that make Elite 8 runs in the NCAA Tournament.
