Did it at Auburn, doing it now. Tracking the ball issues.

Bens fault too for throwing to a guy who has not contributed on the field for the last 6 games.
especially on third and 1.. geez...
p.s. that may be Coates last play...lol.

Meh. It is part of the game. His ability to stretch the field is worth the drops in the long run

I agree with regard to college ball.
In the NFL? Nope, gotta make that catch.

Agreed. Even at a 40% catch ratio deep, it disrupts the defense something fierce. No defense wants to give up a 50+ yard TD play.

To be honest, that's like saying an NFL DE that gets pressure on the QB isn't good if he doesn't sack him. While that's true on 10% or less of the QBs, the others get flustered. Same goes for DBs and safeties. When they're consistently burned, it works on their psyche.

They knew exactly what they were getting when they drafted him. We bitched and praised him at the same time. Does anyone think (including NFL scouts) that it would magically change? Nope. He plays his role and it serves its purpose, and in both situations (drop or TD), it rattles the defensive backfield.

There's LOTS of reasons why an NFL DE might miss a sack when he gets pressure on a QB.
There is ZERO reason why an NFL WR should drop a ball that is laid right into his hands.

Then he got ran over by Jay Jones on the kickoff return.
Auburn on Auburn crime.

Including the playoffs, Sammie Coates has dropped 8 of 29 catchable passes. His 27.59 drop rate is the worst in the league for WRs
I'm surprised it is only 8.

Holy shite, Coates had gotta outweigh Jones by about 30 pounds.

Sure there is, it'd be not being able to catch well. They drafted him for a reason, and it wasn't his catching prowess.

If his WRs would have caught the fricking ball, we'd have been 1997 SEC Champions.

your wrong. speed wont keep u in the NFL. there are plenty of speed guys teams tried to mold, but with 'no hands' they didn't last long.
Coates gets a bye tonight because he is so rusty from not playing in the offensive rotations with his injuries and inconsistencies. And for Steelers and Ben to go to him on 3rd and one early on..was trying to make a big play. cost them a possession.
Coates wont stick with the Steelers because of his hands...regardless of his speed.
