This could actually cause us to clean house in the AD depending on how deep this goes.
Or circle the wagons, deny everything and refuse to hold anyone accountable, making the issue immeasurably worse.

Based on our long history, which do you think is more likely?

His sons werent there in his later years at ASU though right? Seems unlikely since Clint's alleged involvement seems just not canning/supervising his son

I don't think they were on his staff. ASU wouldn't let them be a part of his staff, IIRC. He came to Auburn because we would.

ETA Corey was on ASU staff in 2007-2008

Our AD claims an investigation was launched after the initial allegations surfaced last September; yet Myers for a contract extension after the investigation was launched?

Smells like a clown show wrapped in shite on its surface, people are not going to be able to hide from this.

That's what really bother me about this from the admin side of things. It's clear a shitshow is going on and there are players telling you something needs to be handled and you go ahead with an extension?

Really feels like we valued the Ws over some of the girls and that's crappy if true. Got a feeling it's gonna get worse before it gets better

Also I am now 100% convinced AU can't handle success. Doesn't matter the sport, we are our own worst enemy

Let's be real though, giving extensions is what Auburn does. We don't know how to not extend coaches

Also, we have an out clause for this shite in contracts so not like it puts us on the hook. It was a zero risk move other than optics

-Auburn put out a statement

The gist is "We did things and didn't sweep it under the rug. We can't say what we did because privacy. Don't worry though, you can trust it was the right thing. We promise

Auburn fired the coach. I'm not sure what else could have been done? Two adults having consensual sex is not a crime.

Apparently other things couldn't be done because of the law.

To play devil's advocate, was the extension not discussed for awhile before this came out? Furthermore, if JJ only knew that Corey had consensual relations with a player is that really something you fire a coach over that just took you to the national championship game? I don't know what all was discussed, but under plenty of circumstances the extension is a very normal thing to do.

But I agree, under some circumstances it could be shady AF too.
