Who from CUs DL other than Wilkins has been that productive? At worst, we have a lot more depth than CU.

Its a night game in JH to open the season on prime time television. Our defense will be fired up and playing very well and our offense will be attempting to find an identity. Expect a low scoring first half with a heavy dose of JR and multiple FGs. Second half all bets are off.

If we can build a lead in the first half, settle in the second and play time control football in the second, we will have a shot at winning. If we fall behind and Gus panics, we lose

I could see this going like the 2014 BCS NC game where they are heavily favored and we come out and punch them in the mouth early. Hopefully we can hang on this time around. We will have to score points on offense though.

Just bite the pillow and think of Christmas!!

In reality if we had a QB I would say we have a chance, but we don't have anyone proven at the position so I look for us to lose by 10-17 points.

WE will have to hope the Clemson that played Louisville shows up instead of the Clemson that played Alabama.

And we have to score --- a lot.

Not sure we can do that. There weakness might be their secondary, but I do not know if we can exploit that.

I was talking about DTs specifically & Carlos Watkins also was very good. But I just checked the numbers & honestly you are right in that our guys were just as productive. Watkins leads everyone in TFL as 7.5 but after that it's pretty even for everyone with Russell & Adams having more tackles overall & Lawrence with better numbers than their #3 DT.

So after looking more closely I think you are right with AU having a slight edge. They signed Dexter Lawrence who will be a beast but we signed Derrick Brown so they kind of wipe each other out

Edit: Looking over the numbers, Dontavius Russell so under appreciated. Dude can play inside or outside & was 2nd on the team in TFL behind Cass

Well, they're talented but not an offensive machine, per se. UL held them to 20, ND to 24, FSU to 23 and Wake Forest held them to 33. So they CAN be slowed down.

On D, they have some good starters but REALLY lack depth. I think if we can sustain a good pace on O we can wear them down throughout the game, particularly their DL and LB. Their safeties aren't that great and neither has started so my hope is that we can get them to lose discipline on a few plays throughout the game. My guess is they'll do some "when in doubt stay deep" type of things, so whoever our QB is will have to hit the intermediate throws under the safeties and behind the LBs. That's why I like White here.

On the other hand JF3 could really make life tough for the safeties if they're deep and have to try and make open field tackles on a guy running a 4.3.

I think we stand a pretty good chance. We returned a lot on offense in 2014 including our star quarterback and we proceeded to drop 5 games sooooo

We were so thin last season that we had to put our Mike Lber at DE. Where did all this talent and experience come from exactly?

Thank goodness. I am as big a Tub fan as there is, but his teams looked like shite in the first game of the year.

Well, the specific position that McKinzy filled in for was basically our #1 pass rusher/buck. Other than Lawson he WAS our best pass rusher last year regardless of his natural position before the move. Truly, I felt that Jeffrey Holland should've been put there and he looked great in about every spot he got the chance to play. Outside of him, obviously Cowart was only a frosh and clearly struggled dealing with the college game and better competition. I think it's easy and safe to assume he's going to improve and is still super talented. Kennion seems to have upside, but he is pretty much unproductive to this point, but add in Paul James III and Marlon Davidson (who obviously has taken to the college game better/quicker than Cowart) and you've got 4-5 guys that can get some pass rush instead of just Lawson.

Recruiting and grad transfers.

Do I need to list all of the players on defense, their stars/rankings, etc.?

Went around to some Clemson boards today, trying to see how their fans feel about the game. First takeaway; their boards are terrible. Second: They don't seem to be the slightest bit concerned about AU. Much more conversation about Louisville.
