I feel bad for the guy, but this is a little bit of hope for our running(?) QB given that this was the only DE with significant playing time.

Taternet

quote:

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney announced Tuesday evening after the final practice before classes begin that Bryant – the Tigers only defensive end with significant experience – will miss the rest of fall camp and beginning of the season, including the opener at Auburn, due to a broken bone in his foot. The hope is that Bryant will be back for the game at Georgia Tech in late September.

The guys on TigerNet went from overly confident to "hmmm things just got Dicey"....Was this guy a major player for them? I Know nothing of their Roster outside of Watson who is insane.

Yeah, doing research, he had over 200 snaps....they now have like 167 snaps between their line...with 140 or so coming from one guy.....(May be just the DE not the entire line)

Dude is a first day draft talent. And about the only guy on their d-line with experience. This makes me feel better about running the ball down Clemson's throat.

We really are going to have a noticeable advantage on both lines. Just don't know if it'll be enough to control Watson/Gallman.

Does make it easier for us to run the ball and control the clock.

All we need is for Sean to manage the game and control both lines of scrimmage.

CUs OL is legit... and they've got talent at DT... I think we'll hold our own along both LOS, but their clear advantage at the QB and offensive skill positions will be too much... home field and winning turnover battle is a must.

dont underestimate the role special teams will play also...clemson had a terrible Touch back percentage on kick offs last year, so there could be chances to take one to the house.

I think for AU's offense game is going to come down to can our NFL guards beat their NFL DTs. If we can win that matchup we got a shot. I just don't think we can win this game if we can't consistently run it inside.

Austin Bryant was a highly recruited 4* kid in 2015 that AU at one point in time felt decent about. Tough blow for this front who is already a bit thinner at DE. Both AU & Clemson have had some killer DL classes so they still have some studs they can throw at us

I can hear it now, the Gumps will be saying "The only reason you beat ClemPson is because their best player on defense didn't play."

JMO, but I didn't see him as a first day talent. I think he's the best DE they have right now but I wouldn't put him up there with the recent DEs they've had at Clemson (Shaq, Beasley, Dodd). He's very good though. I'd probably say he's around Antonio Coleman level.

I already felt that Auburn held a substantial advantage on both LOS over Clemson and this certainly doesn't change that. Clemson's best unit is their DTs (Watson, Wilkins and the two frosh 5*), but AU has the interior OL to negate those guys, especially Braden Smith.

Whoever our QB is, I think he'll be given a lot of time to get rid of the ball on passing downs and CU will have to blitz if they want to force consistent pressure.

Lost them the NC last year.

If Deshaun Watson sits out with the flu and let's us win, I'd be okay. A win is a win
