Yeah, they were both great. I saw them both play. Rifleman was the best shooter to ever play for Auburn. He could not get in the paint and bang with the tree's, Barkley could. Barkley could grab the rebound and go coast-to-coast any time he wanted. Person couldn't do that. Again, I saw them both with my own eyes and Barkley would be my first pick.

Yeah, so did I and if you don't think Person could get physical in the post, you're a damned fool with a mild to serious case of Alzheimers. Person averaged over 7.5 rebounds per game over a damn four year career. He didn't get those rebound figures from long arse bounces off the back board or the rim.

Barkley could definitely take it coast to coast with ease. He could also turn it over more on average (and did) in his career than Person did.

Would you talk to me like that if I was standing in front of you? I doubt it.

Have to disagree. On the COLLEGE hardwood, Chuck Person was the all-around better player than Charles Barkley.

Yup, if we are talking peak performance during career Barkley is much better than Person. But if we are talking about the Barkley that played at Auburn Person is the better player overall.

We went went farther in the tourney after Barkley rather than with him as well. That Richmond game in Barkley's final year was one of my more disappointing AU basketball memories.
