For family reasons, although it sounds like it really might be for family reasons. Sounds like he just wants to come back and live in Auburn and not be away from his wife.

His family still lives in auburn? Yikes, couldn't do that type of long distance. Even with the resources to fly back anytime I want.

I saw him around Auburn last week, was honestly a little surprised.

I mean, I know his family has stayed and he's just gone back and forth; at this point, gotta feel like he and his family are around here for good

ETA: Which I like, seems like a good dude who just got in over his head

Is Tub's back in Auburn? Or Lake Martin?

When they announced that he was resigning for family reasons, everyone assumed something went down in a bad way (scandal).

But he wrote a letter to UNC (saw on twitter) which details all the stuff he's missed family-wise since doing the long distance thing.

I agree. Not for a single moment have I held a grudge against Chiz.

Now Tubs? Don't ask.

Chizik's a good man. He wasn't a good head coach and it seems like his defensive strategy has gone the way of the dodo. Probably best for him.

As I've always said, Gene Chizik is a good man. Good luck to him.

Would've been a nice DBs coach

Does Chizik come back be the additional coach on Defense? That would fit the narrative that some are touting that the next hire has a history with Auburn.

Chizik returning to coach at Auburn seems inconceivable to me, but some will speculate.

Gene is a great and family-oriented man that I would kill to share a beer and play a round of golf with. I'm also glad he is no longer our head coach.

I'm glad to see him put his family before the $ he will miss out on.

Tubs is living at his home at lake Martin (union Alabama). Chiz is a good guy. All
Former Auburn coaches want to live in Auburn. Although it is changing, Auburn is a great place.

Another head coach that couldn't leave Auburn. If we hire you here, you might be fired with the quickness but you'll be here forever.

We have an opening in Special Teams. Chizik ST as a HC was on on point, best I ever remeber at Auburn. We should hire him for that area.
