This is awful. Just want downtown Auburn needs, another pizza joint. This is infuriating. I am really getting sick of this goal to make all of downtown Auburn not be a "College town" and have it be more family friendly.

Whose goal is that? I don't know the particulars, but I would assume the lease is up/Bodega is closing and another business is simply taking that space.

So we're up to 3 pizza places at Toomer's? MM, Little Italy, and this place? Dominos and Papa John's within a stone's throw? If that property was too expensive for a bar to survive, no way this place can afford to stay

No, the rent got raised on Bank Vault 100% to drive them out as the city council don't want a bar there. They are trying to rid downtown of as many bars and nightlife stuff as they can. Bank Vault was doing fine but couldn't handle a 100% increase.
I know the ones responsible for this, but I won't name names. They know who they are and are on my shite list
Eta: I get the business side of raising the rate of the landlord can get someone to pay it, I'm just more pissed at the choice of who is filling it.

I cant even think of all the businesses that have been in that location over the years. Its LOTS. You would think that would be a premium location, but nobody seems to stick there for a long while. For whatever reason.

I mean, it's only been two places over like the past decade. That is pretty good for Auburn. The problem is who owns the building. He is not my favorite person

Mellow Mushroom, Little Italy, Dominos, Papa Johns, and Maddios are already within a square mile of that location. No need for another effing pizza place.

I like/prefer the idea of having the bar scene on Gay street and making that the party area while making Toomers Corner + cross streets family friendly. Be a win win for expanded/better nightlife and allow Toomers Corner to be a family friendly place
Unfortunately, I see no chance of those run down businesses + random house + religious buildings agreeing to move/sell for a close to reasonable price

There's also a Pizza Schmizza going in where Zazu used to be. Supposed to have something like 12-14 taps, though.

Jesus. Well, you'll be able to get pizza. That's about it.

Maybe there will be a pizza price war and some of them will go under and you'll get other kinds of places. meantime, students profit.

Yeah, and maybe donuts. Greg from MM is looking to open up donut shop by Toomer's. Would support.

possibly. Will be hard for anyone to beat Italy's prices. Their weekday lunch deal with 2 slices and a pitcher of beer is just stupid.

Yeah, and maybe donuts

We are not children.
There is nothing funny about a little Gay strip.

Ha. Yeah. It's going to be in front of Auburn Mall. Donut at your own risk.
