In church today it hit me that if Bobby has truly asked for forgiveness from his family and God, that we should also forgive him. I am 100% serious and did not feel that way last night.

God gives second chances. Our AD is a Christian, a fallen person is often the best witness. We can write a strong morals clause.

Convince BVG to stay and we are on our way.

We gave Cam a second shot after his fall from Grace at FL and that turned out pretty well. Of course, Brother Chizik didn't want him and had to be convinced to offer him a scholly. Wait a second, Chizik opened his arms for thug Dyer, but wanted no part of Cam. Then he hired Loeffler. I'm starting to see a pattern here.

Can we stop having threads started with just people's names in them?

For example, "Why I feel we should forgive BP and hire him at Auburn" would be acceptable.

And for the record, no. I don't want Petrino here.

If I was a decision maker, I would have to take a long hard look at Petrino.

I am not one that is going to get wound up about morals though. I like Chizik and like that he is a stand up guy that is a GREAT representative of Auburn. However, the HC at Auburn is the HC to win games. You want a great representative for AU, but what they do on the field is ultimately what matters to me, not who they are fricking on the side.

FTR, I do not know if I want Chiz replaced after this year. There is still over half a season to go and although the season is a disaster, I want to see if the team keeps it together the rest of the way and doesn't say frick it.

Either way, I think it is a pretty irrelevant discussion. Jacobs would never hire Petrino in a million years and I think Chiz is back next year as well unless the team completely lays down the rest of the year. And I mean completely quits.

Patrino should not be a option and we look like idiots for even considering him. If we did.

He's not an option and we won't even look at him. I am just saying I would personally consider him and weigh the pros and cons, but Auburn won't, so it doesn't matter.

Jacobs will not hire the next coach.

If we go 3-9, Chizik is gone.

I know you're just trying to lighten the mood a bit, but as AU fans, we shouldn't mention Pat Dye's name anymore. The old timer's name gets mentioned enough by other people ridiculing our football program. I'm ashamed that he represents our university, and somebody needs to grow a pair and tell the guy to get the frick out. I know that's a lot easier said than done, but enough is enough with this clown.

Get him away from the program. Now!

What if he's able to get one SEC win and get us to 4-8. Is he back?

If we're gonna get an SEC win, it'll be Vandy. But at this point, that seems like a stretch.

I agree he should be silenced, but he isn't going away unless people voice their opinions about him.

It's not like he does anything, it'd be great if he would stop going on Finebaum though.

Agree.

I don't think he really does anything other than run his mouth and bring more negative press on AU. It also gives the media their "Dye is in control" fuel to spin.

Well, I am not. I am extremely proud Pat Dye was our coach and extremely happy he is still around and speaking in various outlets about AU. Pat Dye loves Auburn and I appreciate him.

quote:

clown.

Are you kidding me? He is the greatest coach Auburn has EVER had and may ever have. He was better than Shug. He did more for Auburn athletics, and AU people than maybe any single man every has. HE built the FOUNDATION. And he did it pretty much BY HIMSELF. We were a total fricking joke and pitiful when Dye arrived. We had no pride, we had no money, the stadium and field sucked arse with potholes and piss poor conditions all over the field. We had no facilities. We were losing money every year. We were a joke on the field. We were losers and had accepted a loser's mentality.

Pat Dye changed all of that. And Pat Dye was a stand up guy with tremendous character and it is his character that made us proud as AU fans again back in the 80's.

The fact he still cares so much about AU and only wants what's best for AU makes me even happier to have him associated with anything to do with AU.

That is GD bama fans running their mouth. And they are still pissed off and hate Dye for all the arse kicking he put on them and the way he turned the state completely on its head football wise and made little brother the big brother. You want to let what those assclowns say influence your opinion?

I'm not saying Dye didn't do great things for Auburn. But that stuff is in the past, and the guy has turned into a jibbering moron.

You guys are crazy if you don't think Dye still pulls some strings and is a big part of what goes on behind the scenes. He recommended Chizik for the hire four years ago, and he's going up to the football complex first thing Sunday mornings after games, which he admitted to on Finebaum's show earlier this year. Why the frick is he doing that?

Chizik's a great coach, he wouldn't take 10 Sabans over Chizik, blah, blah, blah. And if Dye doesn't have any say in what's going on, how does he know Chizik will definitely be back next year?

Our whole program is an embarrassment right now, and Dye just throws fuel on the fire.
