Bill Clark for Auburn Head Coach in 2017 (possibly earlier)

Yeah, I said it. Bill Clark. Up and coming head coach that won't cost Auburn a ton of money since they will be paying back yet another full staff due to outrageous buyouts put in place after one good season (The Jay Jacobs' Way). We saw it with Tommy Tuberville, we saw it with Gene Chizik, we are about to see it with Gus Malzahn. The question is, would Bill Clark even leave UAB for Auburn?
Auburn just lost Will Muschamp, Travaris Robinson, JB Grimes, Lance Thompson, Dameyune Craig and a hand-full of assistants. Rhett Lashlee was chosen to stay instead of Dameyune Craig. Tim Horton has submitted his name for other jobs, yet has been unsuccessful. Kevin fricking Steele was chosen to replace one of the best defensive minds in the game.
Auburn has a problem, and it starts at the top. The "Yes Man", "Auburn Man", "Good Ole Boy" hiring has really done the program no favors in terms of stability. They were able to catch lightning in a bottle a couple of times, but ultimately failed in the long run.
I don't really care what has to happen, but regardless of previous/current affiliation with Auburn, Auburn needs to hire the right person for the job. I personally think Bill Clark would be great for it. It might take him time to build, but we have talent established and he seems to have a passion imperative for college football. Yes, I do think it's OK to hire former Auburn coaches in certain areas, but not for the sake of keeping that persona on the staff. They need to be a good coach.

Tom Herman is the better version of Gus replacement we need

Coached under Urban Meyer, took Houston to a 13-1 record during his first season.

His scheme is a hybrid of Malzahn and Urban Meyer.
He uses Malzahn run concepts but can actually develop a passing game

As long as their coaching allows for a quality Defense too. Like Clemson or Freezes style.

Muschamp was always expected to leave and no one expected SC to be ready to give him a second chance. TRob only made sense he was going to be DC under his mentor. Thomas was all DC or gone. I can't put much blame on Gus for that. Not sure TRob was ready without the help of Muschamp.
DC is a different story and one I don't like.
However, Bill Clark will not be the next HC

I said this months ago. Bill Clark is the man. With Saban likely only having a few years left in Tuscaloser, a program builder like Clark would be huge and the timing would be just right. He's been huge everywhere. Prattville hasn't been shite without him. He's the one that set Jacksonville State up for John Grass. He had UAB bowl eligible for he first time in a decade and Tuscaloser shaking in their boots so bad that they tried to kill UAB. He just signed the top class in CUSA and they won't even play next year. He already had good talent there before that too. JJ Nelson who played for the Cardinals this year. Jordan Howard and Jake Ganus who will be drafted this year and Jamari Staples who should be one of the top WR in the ACC next year

I'll say this if dc leaves then I may very well take 16 off in terms of getting upset about auburn at all. Not just because of one coach but this is indicative of the bigger problem that is going to come up and it looks inevitable. I love auburn but there's smoke and as much as I wanted his to work out it looks pretty evident it's not going to. War damn.

I agree 100% TT and am now on the Fire Gus bandwagon.
