Who is your favorite AU player of all time that wasn't really that talented but just out worked everyone. Good college player with no chance at the NFL

Freddy Weygan and Jason Miska come to mind- maybe Eddins

Freddy Weygand was fast with tons of talent.

Now his teammate Trey Gainous comes to mind.

Do you have a negative post count thing going on? I see you in threads but it seems like your post count always decreases.

Jay Jacobs.... His underperforming knows no bounds and stretches across a generational barrier that fans of most programs don't have to contend with.

Whoops, sorry didn't read whole post... Jacobs has no heart and if he has a work ethic it was not evident on the field. I retract this submission.

Chris Shelling was all sec cornerback and a great college football player but he was only 5'9. He did not make it in the NFL but did help the 93 team go 11-0.

An all SEC center for 3 yeard in a row, Shannon Roubique..a Denham Springs, La. native...a player from LSU's own backyard no less....a player that LSU passed on because he was "undersized"

Brandon Cox, after his illness really flared up, ran about a 5.5 forty and could only throw the ball around 40 yards but he was a got dam warrior.

Rod Smith. He walked on in 2004 and ended his career at #6 all-time for receptions at Auburn and #8 in yards. He came up huge in several big games in 2006 and 2007

Patrick Nix... through the football the way you or I would throw a brick. Talk about telegraphing a pass.

And won big games for us!

Rod Smith
I remember watching the MSU game early in '05 where caught his first pass...the announcers identified him as Rodriques Smith and I went..."wait, who?" And that was back when I knew every name on the roster...

He was definitely the best unheralded offensive player that I could think of, but my favorite on the defensive side was this guy:

Probably the only leading tackler on an undefeated SEC team who still worked at Subway during the season.

I am with this but Brandon really did have some talent. He had some issues that hurt his potential but he did have "talent"

I still love this guy and am love what he did at Auburn.

For me Rob Pate and Courtney Taylor. I know Courtney was on a NFL roster for one year, but he had no chance, but man I loved him playing for Auburn.

I also really liked Electron Williams, even if only for his name.
