What do y'all think? Call and see if they have had any cancellations in auburn/opelika? Phenix city? Lanett? Anyone here got a room they can't use anymore at a hotel? Last minute decision to go down next weekend.

Got a house in Montgomery I could stay for free but I don't wanna drive that far after drinking plus would rather be otw back toward Atlanta.

Check the Auburn Opelika tourism site. They typically have an updated list of hotels, vacancies, minimum stays and rates as far up 85 as Lagrange.

Some folks stay at the lake, VRBO. Easier drive than MGM, etc.

The rooms around Opelika will be out of sight even if you can find one. Most times, the decent hotels are a couple hundred a night with a 2 or 3 night min.

I'm willing to spend 2-250$ on a room. Just don't wanna do the 3 night min

That's a lie depending upon which part of the lake

If you're willing to stay in Lanett the only thing I'd really recommend is the Hampton Inn. There's a red roof inn in Valley but I'm not sure how good it is. It'll be about a 30-minute drive to the university exit.

If you don't mind waiting until last minute 48 hrs before is when the cancelations happen. It's when they run the cards again. Call around and you should be good. I don't even usually have a hard time at the conference center. Just be proactive and call, call on Wednesday/Thursday

We usually stay in Columbus, GA. They never really raise the prices and it's decent hotels.

Stayed there for the IB last year, and the LSU game the year before. It's about a 30 minute drive from Auburn, but it's worth it IMO

I'd cut the booze off at half, then dart for valley/lanett.
