Too soon. The backlash and faux outrage would be intense.

Isn't Gus' ego to large for such a move? All the internet genius' are convinced he won't listen to anyone. Maybe he just doesn't have a QB and isn't as good as an O mind as people thought.

I don't think Gus's ego would allow for this. He fancies himself as the QB whisperer, yet we put forward offensive performances like Saturday night.

This is dumb.

Briles doesn't need to be anywhere near our program right now.

Our head coach is supposed to be the offensive mind. Yet you think the solution is to hire another former coach that is specialized in offense.

If our current staff cannot correct the problems then they will be let go

Following the Les vs. Kiffin thread, I began to think if Gus is indeed fired following a beat down in the Iron Bowl this year, then it would certainly be worth looking at bringing Kiffin to Auburn (Im sure he's learned a lot about being a HC under Saban) and having Sark as the OC. That duo could recruit lights out.

I'm not sure what defense approach we could take. If Steele continues to field a defense like we saw Saturday, I wouldn't mind keeping him on board, but it would be Kiffin's decision.

I don't know about bringing in Art.

But I don't understand why we didn't replace Lashlee with Kendall Briles the second the game was over.

Or just hire Kendall as offensive assistant until the season is complete, and replace Lashlee with Kendall. THEN when we have a real OC, if we still put out the garbage we saw on Saturday, then Gus needs to hit the road.

Fixed it for you.

Another brilliant move by Saban. Gus is too stubborn to do anything like this and it will eventually cost him his job.

In a motion filed as part of a federal lawsuit filed against Briles and the school, Briles says the school used him as a scapegoat for its sexual assault problem.

A Blend of Luxury & Performance. Build & Price Yours Today. www.JaguarUSA.com/XE
“The conclusion is inescapable that the motive of Baylor and the Board of Regents was to use its head football coach and the Baylor athletic department as a camouflage to disguise and distract from its own institutional failure to comply with federal civil rights protections,” Briles’s lawyer wrote in the motion.

• ROSENBERG: Briles’s firing confirms Baylor’s rotten culture

Briles is demanding Baylor turn over its litigation files and the information discovered by law firm Pepper Hamilton in its independent review of the school, claiming he has yet to see the evidence for why Baylor fired him.

Briles is a co-defendant with Baylor in a lawsuit filed by a rape victim. His lawyer says he does not intend to settle.

I'll echo what someone else said.

Gus needs to fix his offense. The last thing we need are two neurotic offensive minds trying to run one offense.

Is it just me or do the NCAA rules regarding all these "football operations" and "special assistants" need to change? The NCAA says you can only have 9 coaches total. But everyone gets around that by hiring all these off-the-field "analysts." It's out of hand. The playing field needs to be leveled. Right now, only rich programs can afford all of this help from "analysts."

Do we really need to hire someone to tell Gus that he is coaching at a premier d1 fbs school and that he needs to pick one qb and one system to run instead of a different system for 3 different qb's plus packages for non qb's to handle qb duties?
