Yep if we win one of Arkansas or UGA we'd definitely have been playing in the SECCG for a shot at the national championship appearance.. which is crazy thinking that team had zero star power on offense outside of the OL. Cox had to throw to Rod Smith and Prechae Rodriguez

Gus sure the hell got our attention in that 2006 Arky game. That game was shocking. I thought our D was an impenetrable brick wall after lsu, gus destroyed us.

Beating UGA wouldn't have put us in ATL. Arkansas only had 1 SEC loss that year.

I hope the days are over when Arky is that random SEC game we don't really take seriously, and therefore we risk getting upset. It happened in 2002 and 2006. I was worried when we played them in 2004.
It just has always been a thorn in Auburn's side.

This is the game I was at...I knew who Gus Malzahn was from this day on, and you can ask him...the day we fired Tony Franklin I called WJOX and said we should hire Gus Malzahn.
The rest is history.
ETA: The 2002 and 2006 Arkansas games are the 2 most miserable games I've ever sat through...

The other one is Mississippi State. Nobody takes those people seriously though they are always a hard hitting team and reasonably competitive, especially at their place with those fricking cowbells.

We have NEVER pumped crowd noise.
