No Sammie Coates.

And...

quote:

54. Detroit: Gabe Wright, DT, Auburn

Comment: Wright would be a perfect complement to Haloti Ngata.

First AU player off the board.

This is a strong WR class. Don't know if I'm surprised by this.

They want to replace one inconsistent former Auburn DT with another?

Wouldnt be surprised to see Sammie slip to round 3. Will be interesting to see if Nick Marshall gets drafted and where.

Eagles seem to be enjoying signing QBs that don't fit anywhere too

I've seen lots of positive comments by writers (and scout's/coach's quotes from writers) that are impressed by NM and his athleticism and attitude.

I think you'll see him possibly go as high as the 5th round.

Sammie has one flaw, which is catching the ball. That might not be an issue for a DL, but it is huge for a WR.

I would. I've seen a lot of smoke out there that the Pats or Seahawks wouldn't let him past their picks at the back of the 2nd round. Never know though.

Forget DB....Nick would be the second or third best QB on the roster....him and shaw would be a good back up battle for McKown

Gabe Wright would be slightly disappointed. He really wants to play for the Chargers. Out of the three teams that are talking to him, he really does not want to go to the Falcons.
