BoT has called a meeting for Monday morning to vote on the new president.
Is it typical for the BOT to vote without letting the public know who they're first voting on?

OANOW is ripping this process a new one:
Turner: Is Jetgate II coming to Auburn?
AU Presidential Search: Is decision made? Trustees ready to vote, but with less transparency

From the same school that brought us Mr. 5-19.

Welp...He's not an "Auburn Man"...so there's that.

I hate the Cyclones
Why is he so unpopular? They were at all-time highs academically under him. I'll have to text some of my cousins up there tonight.
Also... is this our next step to becoming a basketball school?

Tried to explain after the fact that he was doing it so he could fly himself places on school business and not have to use a University paid pilot, therefore saving the school money.

Once he got his license, he hired his flight instructor as an administrator at the school in a $250,000/year job (I think Information Technology manager).
Flying he and his wife back to Iowa from a vacation in North Carolina in one of the University's new planes, he has a hard landing and does several thousand dollars worth of damage to the plane.

ISU's official fall 2016 enrollment was 36,660, an increase of nearly 1.9 percent over the previous record of 36,001 in fall 2015. The 2016 figure was about 2,500 more than the University of Iowa’s.
In September, Leath said it was time to slow down Iowa State’s recent growth. In the last decade, overall enrollment has grown by 44 percent, or 11,198 students.
Also in September, Leath announced a $1.1 billion fundraising campaign for Iowa State. The campaign, named "Forever True, For Iowa State," is the largest the school has ever had for a comprehensive campaign.
Before coming to Iowa State, Leath was vice president for research and sponsored programs at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. His extensive economic development and fundraising work were a factor in his selection by the Iowa Regents.
Leath and other university presidents fought throughout the past five years to stall tuition increases and had some success, although he and other leaders say shortfalls in funding from the state could lead to a return to more severe tuition increases. Leath has been vocal in his presidency about taking steps to curb student debt.
He has been a visible champion of Iowa State’s most prominent sports teams and was involved in the hirings of Matt Campbell as football coach and Steve Prohm as men’s basketball coach. He also oversaw the most ambitious expansion of Iowa State’s football stadium since it opened in 1975.
The Iowa Board of Regents voted in summer 2015 to increase Leath's base salary 5 percent from $500,000 to $525,000.

Seems he paid the school back for the plane usage, but not the damage. Hopefully he learned something from that. He seems to have a good record for academics.

Nobody gives a shite about the plane. ISU has three planes and one of them was this single engine plane they use for business. They would have not have had a problem if he had used a car owned by the University.
They are mad at him for doing away with a University Sponsored Event that had a reputation of trouble.

We should all be incredible thankful we went with someone outside of the 'Auburn Man' profile. That to me is just about good enough. He appears to have a solid pedigree leading the UNC system.
He'll have my full support. If he fires JJ in the first year, I'll like him even more.

This. Imagine if the University ran rodeo and canceled it. That is basically what he did, except the event at ISU routinely had riots.
