Separately, Auburn is studying the possibility of adding club seats in both end zones at Jordan-Hare Stadium as part of a multi-phase renovation that could top out at more than $100 million, according to officials involved in the project.
The upgrades revolve around moving Auburn's home locker room from the south end zone to the north end zone, which has more space for redevelopment, according to Jay Jacobs, the school's athletic director.
At Auburn, the appetite is strong for premium seats. The current 5,000 club seats along the sidelines are sold out and fans holding tickets to about 750 regular seats in the stands pay club-seat prices without access to indoor lounges.

Saw this. Not sure how I feel.

Auburn was also "considering" recognizing our national championships....we saw how that turned out

Auburn renovating the stadium plus additional seating? Doesn't really bother me. Not sure why it bothers some. I'd be pretty stoked if this happens.

not like your tickets are going to get cheaper anyway - why not add on - works for me. This will just crank up the premium seat prices.

Someone on the Scout site (I think, maybe Rivals) called these exact renovations a couple months ago. Good call by whoever it was

Haven't we been "considering" this for years?

That rendition sure is perty

We don't need to add much if any capacity, but if they want to add some premium seats and they think the improvements make sense financially then I guess that is fine.

That rendering has been floating around for awhile now. If we add seats, it doesn't need to be that many. As loud as JHS gets, there is also a large 'wine and cheese' crowd, so I'm guessing this is who these would cater to.

I see how some don't care because their wallet isn't hit when they go to 1-2 games a year. But to those sitting in the Nelson Club and others will now have a tougher decision to make.
The cost has to be covered by someone and you know it sure as hell is going to be paid by the butts in the seats. We're still paying off an arena too.

Build it and they will come.
Sometimes.
Sometimes.

Am I the first to post about how JH needs stadium sound system upgrades before anything else? WTF, you guys are slipping.

Agree have heard and seen this for several years now also.
My plan
Step 1) Gut the huge and mostly unused press box and connect the North and South Club sections giving us premium club seating along the entire west side. Leave the coaches areas and AU network areas in place.
Step 2) Move Beckwith club members to the new Club level above them and modify their section and lounge (above section 6) to be a much nicer but more appropriately sized press box. No offense but the people that established the Beckwith club have been dead for years. Their grandchildren don't deserve million dollar seating in perpetuity.
Step 3) Replace the windows in the suites with new ones that open so you don't feel like you are watching the game on TV.
Step 4) Construct suites above current seating in both end zones similar to the ones depicted above the south end zone in the rendering. Upper deck end zone seating will make it look like you know who. I would rather have a better stadium than a bigger one.
Step 5) Upgrade video and sound system to make second to none. And fire whoever keeps playing the 1995 techno music.
MOVE this to #1 on second thought.
Spend 35-50 million on making JHS the BEST in the country.
See better, not bigger comments in step 4.
Finally..... Take the other 10-15 million and pay off everyone that we have fired but still owe tons of money thanks to the Jimmy Sexton golden parachute plan that we keep falling for.
Sorry for the looonnnggg response post but I have had a cocktail or 2 and have put a lot of thought into this over the years.
WDE! Be blessed.

It's needed badly along with a new athletic complex. When I was in school, I think we had one of the top 3 facilities in the conference, now we are probably dead near the bottom in the SEC West. While the in game experience is one of the best in the country, the outside aesthetics and concourse areas are borderline being a dump. LSU use to be the same way, but I think the outside of their stadium is awesome now. I will give money if it means covering up the erector set.

the athletic complex can wait

This will not be done all at once. Biggest need for recruiting is a bigger hosting room at the stadium and new football facilities including coaching offices, meeting rooms, etc.
1) recruiting room / locker room.
2) scoreboard and sound system
3) more priority seating and a zone area
4) Enhancing the suite level has already been approved, concourse will be climate controlled.
There are currently two plans out there. I have visited every sec stadium except TAMU and Mizzou and JH has some advantages over many. tTown is the exception.
1) downstairs rest room facilities are among the best in the SEC for women. They have shorter lines than men. Auburns are shorter than most stadiums. UGA, Ole Miss and MSU are particularly bad.
2) water prices much better, plus free water.
3) food choices and lines are above average with expanded choices.

Seems like we hear about this every year. I'd love to see something like Clemson in the endzone with box seats and suites to fill in.
