Chase Jeter transferring from Duke, we should put the full court press on him forget about the other guy I mentioned .

Would this be better or worse than under Lebo when our tallest guy was like 6'7"?

Wesley Person Jr.
He scored 15 points against Duke. Clearly not good enough to displace any of our pine riders.

He also had 6 TOs

If he was a grad transfer it would make sense but we aren't taking a kid who'd sit one year and only have 1 yr eligibility left

I'd give my left nut to get Jeter. He would be incredible in our style of play

He is transferring back closer to home though. Rumor is he ends of at Arizona

Only 1 is worth a damn (with the exception of Murray I don't know about him yet)

If we could add someone like Fitts who can rebound, defend, and be an offensive weapon he would automatically trump McLemore and Spencer.

Mclemore and Spencer would be great coming off the bench providing energy block shots rebounds etc. but bless their hearts they have no offensive game outside of dunks.

Chuma Okeke had some unbelievable games.. He had 36 points and 28 rebounds against Sexton's Pebblebrook team. He was a 20 point/20 rebound machine all year.

Okeke, a 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward from Westlake High School near Atlanta, committed to Auburn this past July as a consensus four-star prospect and is ranked as the 56th-best player in the country according to 247Sports.com. Okeke chose Auburn over Mississippi State, Florida, Clemson, LSU, Georgia Tech, Georgia and UAB after he averaged 14.8 points per game and eight rebounds in 15 games this summer for the Georgia Stars AAU team out of Atlanta.

Okeke is expected to arrive at Auburn for the 2017-18 season with the expectation that he’ll challenge for a starting position at power forward in his freshman season.

“Chuma Okeke is a rare talent,” Pearl said in a university statement when Okeke signed with Auburn during the early period on Nov. 9. “He’s a nightmare matchup for people because he can shoot the ball from the perimeter. He can put it on the floor. He can score for himself. He reminds you of Danjel Purifoy, but he has little bit more size. He’s creative like Danjel as well.”

In being named Mr. Georgia Basketball, Okeke edged out highly touted players such as Duke signee/McDonald’s All-America selection Wendell Carter Jr., Alabama signee/McDonalds All-America selection Collin Sexton, four-star Georgia signee Rayshaun Hammonds and fellow four-star Auburn signee Davion Mitchell.

Okeke joins an elite club of players throughout Georgia basketball history to be named Mr. Basketball including Jaylen Brown (No. 3 selection of the 2016 NBA Draft), Derrick Favors (No. 3 selection of the 2010 NBA Draft), Al-Farouq Aminu (No. 8 selection of 2010 NBA Draft), eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard, Kwame Brown (No. 1 selection of 2001 NBA Draft) and former Auburn player Chris Morris, who had a 12-year NBA career.

So the guy we should be targeting as a grad transfer is USF's SG/PG Geno Thorpe (15.1 ppg, 4.6apg, 3rpg, 37.5% 3FG 85% FT)

Thorpe is looking to transfer for the 2nd time (1st - PSU -> USF). Thorpe is a SG but has played well when asked at PG for USF. More importantly, he is most respected for his great perimeter defense

So basically

-Good FT shooter
-Good defender
-Can play PG/SG

We need him.

Saw him mentioned a few weeks back and saw this posted by SkipJansen about him as a possibility. Anybody know what connections are being referred to?

So Geno Thorpe would fit the billing for combo guard

Some interesting people who'd fit the billing for the "big" that I've seen

UW-Green Bay Phoenix - PF Kareem Kanter 6'9 245lb - Enes Kanter's brother in 20 mpg averages 12ppg/7rpg. Bruce used to coach in Wisconsin, maybe has connections

William&Mary - PF Jack Whitman 6'9 235 - Avg 10ppg 5rpg in 22mpg while shooting 66% 2FG. Originally from Lexington KY so may like the idea of playing vs UK

Princeton - PF Hans Brase 6'9 230 - Avg 11ppg/7.5rpg in the last full healthy season. From South Carolina which is SEC territory

Big Man Transfer Candidate

Duke PF Sean Obi will grad transfer and could be a big man fit

At 6'9 255 he is a great physical rebounder/player. While he didn't get minutes at Duke, he avg ~12ppg ~10rpg as a true FR for Rice before transferring to Duke

There will be concerns with injuries as he sat out his SO year due to knee surgery and played limited minutes this year
