We're in the position to do that this year and next. We essentially have a year to two year head-start on their program depending on how talent develops.

Coach Pearl was on jox this morning and that was brought up. He said that's the media rumor and that right now Wiley is in the 2017 class.

MCT, is there any longshot guys on the table for us? Or are we pretty much just moving on to future classes at this point?

I'm sure new names will pop up but as of right now it's Obiago or bust.

I saw that Hokanson crystal balled Obiago to us in October but everybody else is still picking Baylor.

I think we could make a run. If Wiley enrolls this year and Obiago doesn't have to be in the same class as him, and we make the NIT or get talked about as a bubble team and it'll go a long way. Let him see our talent and sell him on being the missing piece as the only true Center since Wiley can also play PF. Auburn is a lot closer to Decatur, GA than Waco, TX is and Baylor's AD may be in some trouble. We potentially have a lot going for us with him.
Now allow me to be an optimist and imagine how loaded the roster could be next year. If we got Obiago and nobody transfers that makes 13 and would be the first time since Pearl's been here that we aren't forced to fill out the roster with grad transfers.

I wouldn't expect to hear anything until he's cleared. Until then Pearl will continue to say he's a part of the 2017 class, but insiders seem confident he'll be playing in January.
