Are we expecting Wiley to be at Auburn more than 1.5 years? ...assuming he spends .5 of those years playing this season.

This Prep School thing has been in the works for a minute.

I mentioned it many moons ago, and since his grades are not up to par, I don't see an early arrival happening.

Of course, in the world of amateur hoops. who knows?

From JLee in a thread on Rivals in response to the rumor:
I believe you're right.

Wiley wants to graduate in December, which would be difficult for him to do at Spain Park. Him transferring leads me to believe he'll be at Auburn in January

And JHoke:
It is. Plan is enroll this winter and play this season, missing only fall semester games.

Hey, if true, that is a very good thing. I like sunshine!

It was being said that he wasn't going to graduate on time at SPHS. His Mom said that his SO year he didn't do what he should have academically.

If he does get here early, that would certainly be a different reason than why most people head to Prep School.

A ton of players go to prep school for basketball not academics related.

There's also a ton of athletes that go prep to get their grades right. Seems like this will benefit Wiley in more than one way.

I read that this isn't the first player that would graduate early and play for Pearl. He had someone do this at UT as well

That was Jr who said that. Hard to tell when he is getting good info or when he is hearing the voices in his head

somebody speculated in this thread months ago that he had work to do academically... completely baseless and with zero sources.... So of course these idiots run with it likes its fact.

Specifically JR did and still maintains it despite mounting evidence + info that suggests it is wrong

Bruce was on Jon Rothsteins podcast and talked about Auburn podcast. Here are some notes

-Realistic expectations are postseason tournament

-He thinks our backcourt can go toe to toe with anyone including Kentucky

-All our players are cleared

-Mustapha Heron and Jared Harper have next level work ethic. Rubbed off especially on Bryce Brown who he thinks will have a big year

-Believes this team is as talented if not more than his Tennessee teams (may have meant w 17 recruits)

I'm anticipating our basketball season more than our football season.

Same here. It is this sweet combination of talent + relatively low expectations that makes me so excited
