Why is Duke still able to walk? His whole team should've taught him how fun a blanket party can be.

This was reported hours earlier.

Also, is this not a HIPPA violation if she's naming someone from the hospital staff as her source???

My earlier post from the other thread on Duke
quote:

Auburn's senior receiver and NFL draft hopeful, D'haquille "Duke" Williams, was kicked off the football team on Monday after going on a punching spree inside a local bar. Williams is accused of punching two security guards, a bartender assistant and his team mate, Xavier Dampeer, following Auburn's win over San Jose State.

The incident was allegedly sparked when one of Williams' friends was kicked out of Skybar for violating the bar's dress code by wearing sunglasses inside. Williams, who witnesses say was drunk, attempted to get his friend back inside but was denied and tossed out also. The bar owners eventually let Williams back in, but removed him again after he allegedly threw a drink at a female patron.
According to a witness, Duke lost it and hit 4 people, which included the bouncers and manager. He was tossed out of the club where his team mates attempted to calm him down but he then punched Xavier Dampeer in the mouth.

We received a Baller Mail from someone on the scene who said that about 5 minutes later, two friends of Duke were involved in another altercation in front of a local restaurant, Lil Italy. One gentleman who came with Duke was knocked unconscious. The fight was broken up by an plain clothed officer. Duke's friend was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Another friend of Duke's was arrested. There is no record of Duke Williams being arrested that night but he's still facing consequences.

"Last night I dismissed Duke Williams from our team," Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said on Tuesday. "I gave him a chance to prove himself, and I'm disappointed it didn't work out. Our team will be fine. We will move on."

Well he's not our problem anymore so he can do whatever he wants - apparently he already has and at this rate he's likely to ruin it all for himself. It's a shame for the man, hopefully he can get it together so that his time at Auburn is the only part of his adult life that gets derailed.

The AL.com article said this:

quote:

Auburn reserve center Xavier Dampeer suffered an injured jaw after being punched during a bar fight in Auburn last weekend, according to Alabama News Network.

A source told the network Dampeer was one of four people attacked by former Auburn wide receiver D'haquille "Duke" Williams, who went on a rampage in an Auburn bar after Saturday's loss to San Jose State. AL.com could not confirm whether a teammate was involved in the fight. When asked Tuesday if any other players were involved in the incident, Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn said, "I'm not going to get into any details."

To which I say frick. I thought auburn beat San Jose St.

Correct, so her not naming the source would be irrelevant. Hospital would get dinged by HHS and Dampeer could sue

No, it is not:

quote:

Patients have the right to ask that information be withheld. As long as a patient has not made this request, hospitals can release the following information without obtaining prior patient authorization:

Name—Information can be released to those people (media included) who ask for the patient by name. Information cannot be released to an individual unless that person knows the patient’s name.
Condition—A one-word explanation of the patient's condition can be released.
Location within the hospital—As long as prohibited information is not revealed, such as the patient being treated for substance abuse, the location can be released.
Religion—This information can be released only to clergy on request. Clergy do not need to ask for the individual by name. Hospitals are not obligated to collect this information. If hospitals collect this information, they should inform the patient why they are collecting it and inform the patient that it will be handed over to clergy if requested.

So, as long as Dampeer didn't request his name not be released, they're in the clear.

You don't think anyone from the AD went with him to the hospital and advised him to opt out of disclosure? Particularly to avoid issues such as this?
