I agree. I was through with him after the Clemson game. It does appear that he is learning how to be a HC and not just a coordinator. I have said this before............I hope he figures out how to be a HC at Auburn. If he ever figures it out, I would rather have him on my sideline than the other.

I'm honestly starting to believe that we have the worst fan base out there. When we win our fans are fine but the first sign of adversity and they fall apart and throw tantrums like 3 year olds not getting their way.
We might. Most AU fans have no perspective. They'd be pitching a fit about Urban Meyer losing to Clemson 31-0 and to OU by 2 TDs in their last two big games. About how Kevin Wilson was just a scapegoat and can't save Meyer who's clearly lost his touch.

Though I agree with you in this, you have to understand that a lot of the posters here who are kicking the most dirt are not fans and not people who use this board consistently. Most of them are trolls from other fan bases and only show up when things are bad.
Consider the source for the most part.

I don't know about that. Go back and read through our game thread from last night. It's pathetic. Like we lost 49-10.

I have never believed he needed to be fired. I also believe firing him now would be a huge mistake unless this team goes off a cliff. Imagine what this team could be like next season with the O pieces all back, assuming Steele continues to bring the D along. I wouldn't fire him even if we lose to uga and bama.

No thank you. I was at the game on only commented a few times in that shite show. I think I made my feelings heard last week with some of those clowns.
Its almost like they want the team to fail. Just begging for it to fail so they can melt down on them
Sad

No. We've played exceptionally well the last two weeks. Gus will need to do a lot this year to erase all the dumbassery he's done the past few years. He has to beat UGA or BAMA.

Gus earned ever criticism he got early in the season. The team looked back because he was not letting his OC do his job. That criticism put enough pressure on him to actually make a change. As long as he keeps improving as a coach (and gets our running game back on track) the natives will remain at bay.

I'll step up and play. I've been as critical of Gus as anybody. He's made some good moves...Moving Austin Golson to left tackle and promoting Casey Dunn to Center as an example. Kudos to Gus or Hand or whoever for that move. It still drives me crazy when we hit a big big play, the first play we run as Kerryon up the middle. I will say Kerryon makes a huge difference on the goal line. The dude just knows how to get to pay dirt.
I don't expect us to beat Bama, but we need to give'em hell and must absolutely positively beat Georgia this year. No excuses.

Agree. And last night looked a lot more like Chip's O than Gus'...probably a good thing since our two lead RBs are obviously significantly less than 100%.
Also, look at the other job openings in the SEC. There are at least 6 other jobs where the seat is "warm" with three of those very hot (LSU, UT, and Mizzou), and one open (Ole Miss). Does not sound like it will be a buyer's market with respect to coaching changes come December...could be very tough to find someone good.

You must not know many Ohio State fans then. They are pretty sick with how they’ve been playing too.
Fact of the matter is that we’ve been in this exact position before. Look awful early, blow out some really bad sec teams and everyone overlooks some of our pretty glaring issues, then we hit some real teams and the wheels fall off.

I don't understand why everything is fixed, Gus is great, and we are champions because we beat Mizzou and Miss State.
We simply did what Auburn is supposed to do as a team with excellent recruiting classes, high expectations, and an offensive guru as HC.
Let's run through this garbage schedule, dominate inferior opponents, improve weekly, and win the two that count at the end.
If that happens, we'll play for the SEC title and everybody will be back on the Gus Bus. Until then... being skeptical is perfectly acceptable and probably a responsible reaction of a true fan.

Natives also remember the borderline erotic Arkansas game last year and how the season still ended. I think they will be at bay for a while.

Gus is just ok as a coach. He has the advantage that the SEC is down this year. He usually wins against teams with inferior talent. His offense is very hit or miss. He doesn't do a great job with half time adjustments. He is good for 8 wins a year - some years more.
UGA is a toss up. We will lose to bama. He'll probably win at LSU this year. For 2017, it will be good enough.

Well in the past 2 weeks they've given up 80 points
