"Miracles on the Plains" - Directed by Rory Karpf
On April 23, 2013, the oaks at Toomer's Corner had to be removed. More than two years earlier, those trees at Auburn University's historic landmark had been poisoned, casting a dark shadow over the school. Meanwhile, the Auburn football team went from National Champions in 2010 to the bottom of the SEC by 2012. Head coach Gene Chizik was fired and replaced by Gus Malzahn, the offensive coordinator of that national title team. Expectations were bleak entering the 2013 season, as Malzahn inherited a team coming off its worst season in 60 years. What followed was one of the biggest single-season turnarounds in college football history - a year of implausible finishes, cinematic heroics, games for the ages...and, eventually, the symbolic return of those mighty oaks.

I bet that is what Tre Mason was referring to when he Tweeted about 30 for 30 interview.

What does the second one have to do with Auburn besides a play on words?

I hate the term miracles. I'll be damned if we weren't better than every team we beat on the schedule that year.

Miracles don't imply that we won when we were inferior. Look at our clear domination of Georgia and their continued 'luck' in the second half.

Doesn't change that our 4th down play was a "miracle." Just like it is a "miralce" that UGA didn't lose that game by 20 the way we were dominating

fricking Holland makes the only TD saving tackle of his career, and they gave Murray the points.

Tre Mason, Nick Marshall, Gus Malzahn and Cam Newton are among the interview subjects included in "Miracles on the Plains," as well as Alabama coach Nick Saban and Georgia coach Mark Richt.

"That was not easy," Holley said. "It took some work to get (Saban and Richt) and some negotiating to get those. I think you need that; you need to hear from the opposition to get a balanced feeling of emotion."

However, neither Ricardo Louis nor Chris Davis Jr. are currently included in the film, which is directed by Rory Karpf, who adds another "SEC Storied" feature to his resume, which includes "Book of Manning" and the recent ESPN 30 for 30 "I Hate Christian Laettner."

How can they not have Ricardo and Chris Davis? I hope they make efforts to add their perspective before it airs in September

While I agree with you, I don't know what else you can call the catch by Louis.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think it's still too early for a documentary on this. Wait until all the relevant parties are out of the game.

I'd also rather have one about just the kick 6. Given it's unprecedented greatness, it doesn't need to share the spotlight with the Georgia play.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's hard for Richt and Saban to agree to this because it just happened and there's still a lot at stake between these 3 coaches. Especially this year

If this wasn't on the conference's channel, there's no way they would have ever agreed to be on it.

Oh, absolutely. The Kick Six was not a miracle, it was good coaching and good execution.
