Caught the last inning on the radio. I was worried Thompson would never be his old self again. Glad it seems like he's recovered well

Auburn wins 7-0. Pitched a 1 hitter. It came in the top of the first. Herndon made his team leading 3rd appearance in the 9th to finish it off.

Holy Cross is pitching their stud tomorrow so runs will come at a premium. They are also without their best player in their first baseman who is out with a broken wrist. He will miss the first month of the season. Which is good news for Auburn as Holy Cross will be stout on the season. They are the favorite in the Patriot League.

I think we will be better than last place in SEC like they are picking us.

Cooper finally got her first HR of the season. Led the team last year but bat has struggled some early tho she has been getting a ton of walks

Casey Mize has 12 Ks through 5 innings against Holy Cross this afternoon. It's 4-0 bottom of the 5th.

Tigers win 4-0. Mize and Lipscomb combine for shutout. Thompson/Mize is a legit 1-2 punch

We have been picked tied for 12th in the conference ahead of Mizzou, tied for 6th in the west with Bama.

We are a borderline regional team this year. It wouldn't surprise me to see the SEC get 11 or 12 teams in a regional.

Are we playing good defense?... overall more fundamentally sound (the kinda stuff that shows up regardless of competition)?

Pitching and defense should be solid this year for baseball. Question will be if we have enough offense and deep enough bullpen for SEC play

Pitching this year in softball is damned strong it looks like.

I like our chances to host a Super and be back in the WCWS.

Realistically for baseball (based on your homer opinion)

What SEC teams are:

-For sure finishing above us

-Likely above us but slim shot we can beat out

-Slight better/ Slightly worse aka real competition

- Should finish below

Auburn softball drops a game to #13 James Madison 1-0 and only musters up one hit.
