Being totally honest. I look for us to get our fair share in the end, as always but I'm the least excited about this class than I have been in several years for some reason. Maybe the injury plague or the stability of the program but I'm hoping we finish the season strong, and top recruits can't help but notice our potential under Gus.

It's not that exciting because we aren't really in the mix for any huge names left at the moment. There are enough low 4 star type players left out there for us to finish in the top 12-15 but there doesn't seem to be many huge battles for elite prospects shaping up down the stretch.
ETA: Just looked and the highest rated player we have a good shot with is 189 with Ryan Johnson.

So random Myron Burton update, he has surfaced at Mesa Community college in Arizona according to BHam news.
I guess his modeling career wasn't working out

Another update is that former 5* WR Preston Williams left Tennessee. He told the press a while back that he only visited Auburns OV just to get Dameyune Craig off of his back or something like that.

Karma for him being a total dick during the recruiting process

Nah, usually I just think we are going to lose the battles.
This year, at the moment, we aren't even really in any.

Anybody know if we have any interest in Justin Fields, 2018 QB from Harrison?
Also, why has Gatewood dropped so much in the rankings?

I haven't really followed him but it seems like every time his name is posted it's about him throwing the ball like twice a game.

Gatewood's competition is trash and he has 15 pass attempts through 6 games.
We need to turn him into a DE
I would say TE but we don't use them.

We use them... we just don't throw to them.
With Oregon struggling, hopefully we can get back in on trey mckitty.

So why has he only thrown 15 passes I guess is the better question?

Bartram rotates 3 QBs. Gatewood has talent for sure though.

Well then he's a perfect fit for Gus, amirite?

Idk. Bartram's coach has been doing that for the past 4 years I've lived here.

Auburn is a major player for 3-star West Palm Beach (Fla.) Oxbridge Academy cornerback Traivon Leonard, a North Carolina commit.
Auburn is not worried about 4-star offensive guard commit Nick Brahms of Navarre (Fla.) visiting North Carolina last week. The Tigers also don’t think it hurt the Tar Heels were pummeled Saturday by Virginia Tech.
Speaking of touted offensive linemen, you heard it here first: Look for Cesar Ruiz of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, the No. 1 center in the country, to visit Auburn in the near future. When we nail down the date, we’ll let you know. We think at this time it probably will be an official.
Even though Ruiz is thought to be a Michigan lean, he has remained in close contact with Hand and the two go way back. And ... Ruiz has taken notice of Auburn's improved play.
Should Ruiz visit (and we’re 99 percent sure) that would be huge for Auburn, which hopes its strong play of late will help it make a push.
Hand watched Ruiz play Thursday night. As usual, Ruiz was very good.
Four-star quarterback/athlete commit Tray Bishop of Dawson (Ga.) Terrell County, one of Auburn’s most important commits, is expected to visit Georgia this weekend. For those keeping score at home, that would be two trips to Athens, Ga., in three weeks.
There is a lot of chatter the parents of 3-star tight end Tre’ McKitty from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy are strongly in favor of their son — who’s committed to Oregon — playing close to home instead. He’ll visit Miami this weekend and Auburn the next. FSU also is very much in the mix.
McKitty’s conversations with the Tigers have ramped up in recent weeks.
-Hand also will visit 5-star Alabama offensive tackle commit Alex Leatherwood of Pensacola (Fla.) Washington on Friday.
-Fountain will hit some schools in south Georgia.
-Defensive line coach Rodney Garner will check out 4-star defensive end Markaviest Bryant of Cordele (Ga.) Crisp County, a target the Tigers seem to be trending up with of late. His teammate is 4-star 2018 linebacker Quay Walker. Both players have attended two Auburn games this season.
-Receivers coach Kodi Burns will check on 4-star receiver Noah Igbinoghene of Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.).
-Running backs coach Tim Horton is expected to attend the James Clemens-Buckhorn game.
-Linebackers coach Travis Williams will be in the metro-Atlanta area. He’s likely to visit 4-star linebacker Tyler Taylor of Buford Lanier and a handful of players at Grayson, notably 4-star corner Deangelo Gibbs and 2019 linebacker Owen Pappoe, the No. 2 recruit in the country.
-Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele will be in Montgomery (Ala.) to see 4-star defensive end target Ryan Johnson of Mobile (Ala.) St.Paul’s Episcopal. There is no bigger defensive target on the Auburn board.
Now, here are some coach visits we reported Friday morning ….
-Saturday, Malzahn and Fountain will be in Washington D.C. on Saturday to attend the game of 5-star offensive tackle commit Calvin Ashley.
-Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee is in Florida. He’ll attend the game of 2018 quarterback commit Joey Gatewood at Jacksonville Bartram Trail.
-Hand will stop in Navarre (Fla.) to check on 4-star offensive guard commit Nick Brahms.
-In the Huntsville, Ala., area, Auburn will check on 4-star offensive tackle commit Austin Troxell — and attend the Madison James Clemens-New Market Buckhorn game. Notable targets: Linebackers Will Ignont and Monty Rice, and defensive end LaBryan Ray.
-Secondary coach Wesley McGriff is spending the day in south Florida.

I live in DC, Ashley looked good in the game and they blasted the other team, Archbishop Carroll.
