watched that guy dominate Bowers for an hour during that scrimmage thing where the recruits played a month or so ago
Don't know if that is saying much though

We (SEC) need UK to be dominant. The SEC is the basketball equivalent to the Big12 or American Athletic. If we didn't have UK last year, SEC likely goes from 5 bids to 2 bids given SOS decline + "quality losses" by our bubble teams
Unless Kentucky swipes one from under our noses, I have no problem with them getting all their 5* targets. Better Kentucky than some ACC school etc

I don't know man. I'd like to win an SEC championship sooner than later. We won't if Kentucky keeps pulling in five stars like they do.

UK looked a tier above Duke last night if that's even possible. The way they run the floor and score in transition is fun to watch.

Yep I'm with you there. I'd at least like to have a shot to win an SEC title. That doesn't even look possible for anyone else in the conference with the way Kentucky recruits.

I don't buy into the notion that UK has to be good in order for the SEC to be good.
If Kentucky goes down and we only get 3 teams into the Tournament then so be it. With Pearl I'd like Auburn's chances to be 1 of those 3 teams and have a legit shot at an SEC title too

LSU, Alabama, Auburn, MSU, A&M, and South Carolina are all hitting on 4 and 5 star guys right now too

Obviously I'd like to win one, but there sort of is a hierarchy of achievements in a college basketball season that is way different than football.
Others may view a little differently but I view it as
1- NCAA Champ
2- Final Four
3- Elite 8
4- Sweet 16 or Major Conference Champ (16 if never before, champ if never before otherwise equal)
5- NCAA tournament bid
6- Regular Season Conference Winner

I'd rather make it to sweet 16 in back to back years than win SEC Champ twice with first rd exits

Genes Chin, you are approaching my comment like I only want an SEC championship and nothing more. I obviously want more than that. And just winning the SEC tournament, at the bare minimum, gets you to number 5 by itself.
If I had the choice, I'd like to win the SEC and go deep into the NCAA tournament, not just go deep into the tournament.
And if you argue that, you are crazy.

I think we both have some misunderstandings. I agree with your point, just trying to point out how Kentucky being dominant is a huge boost to teams like Auburn.
Kentucky being the consistent top 3-5 RPI team they are is a game changer for the SEC. Even when they go undefeated it helps, when they lose conference games it basically rockets the SEC up in RPI.
Like I pointed out, you take Kentucky out of the SEC last year, our NCAA bid count likely is 2. Teams like UGA/Ole Miss don't make the NCAA without their Kentucky games + RPI boost to the conference

Essentially, I'm saying that Auburn is more likely to be a bubble team for the next 4-5 years than conference champion. Given that expectation, I'd much rather get help on the bubble than a slightly better shot at winning the ship

The latest thing I heard about him is he is waiting until the late period and we are still strongly in the mix

Dang. I was hoping the link would be more promising than that.
