In the past, it use to be easy to know where you are headed, but the bottom tier bowls rotate. If Missouri or Kentucky go bowling, they are actually worst than us.

frick losing to Memphis Houston or tubs. Birmingham bowl would suck. We would get run by Memphis.

Not really. Their D is suspect, and our D is peaking.

I am pulling for the music city bowl. Can't go wrong with a trip to Nashville.

I'd go to any matchup in Birmingham or Nashville. It'd have to be something special for me to go to Memphis or Jacksonville.

I want some of what they are smoking. How in the world would Auburn end up in the Citrus?

If Bama is in the playoff, then you might see two more schools in the NY6 - one in the Sugar, one in the Peach - and that is assuming that neither Florida, Georgia or LSU win out in the regular season. Doesn't the Citrus get the next pick? Tennessee, Ole Miss, MSU and Ole Miss could possibly end at 8-4. No way all of those teams are skipped to select us at 6-6 or by some amazing miracle 7-5.

Their secondary is suspect. Their run defense is pretty good. Paxton Lynch would worry me...

If they hadn't beat Ole Miss by 2 TD's i'd see it different. Ole Miss was outscored 37-10 the final 52 minutes of the game.

I do think we could beat them, I'm just more confident that they'd beat us right now.

Fuente is doing all of that in Memphis with like several former walk-on players.. He can coach, Memphis just doesn't have the overall talent as some of their conference mates. He still won a a conference championship last season and will probably win 10-11 games this season too. Looking over their roster they return like 90% of their team next season and their recruiting has picked up a bit.

They will be a force and get better and better each season he is there. If Gus doesn't handle business. I know who I want lol.

SEC #9 is where we finish and that is the Birmingahm golden shower bowl.

We'll get boat raced by anyone we play. Who cares at this point.

That hierarchy no longer exists.

MCB sounds good to me. That means I'd probably get to go sit in a suite for the game.

ETA: I'm dumb. The bowl selection change effects bowl slots 3-8. Bowl slots 9 (Birmingham) and 10 (Shreveport) get to make their picks.

Doesn't matter anymore. SEC works with bowls to slot teams in for best matchup.

Well...it could. See my above comment. Bowl slots 3-8 are assigned by the league office with slots 9 and 10 being selected by the bowls themselves.

PM: Loss to UGA: Instead of Birmingham or Shreveport, Auburn could have been in Jacksonville to play in the Tax Slayer Gator Bowl. That could still happen, but it’s much less likely.
