I wouldn't have minded The Georgia Grits or something along those lines. Could have even incorporated video clips from My Cousin Vinny at the games in the inaugural season.

Call me an old man (I'm not), but I despise they stupid arse new nicknames that seem to be attempting to top the most recent one to be the loudest, tackiest and most moronic of all.
Pick something local, pick something interesting, pick something that represents where you are. The only one from that list like that would be the Buttons, but that won't get picked.
Peaches, Towers (Gwinnett is Great), etc.

Most of them used to be rooted in something historical about the city, though.
The Lookouts, for instance, were named for Lookout Mountain. The Norfolk Tides, obvious. Even some of the newer ones like the Omaha Storm Chasers.
I think they'd actually get more good press if they bucked the trend and did something classic. The "Gwinnett Peaches" or even the "Georgia Peaches" with a traditional logo of a peach or something would be a great hat. I promise they would sell more of those than the Georgia Lamb Chops.

They are also affiliated with the baby cakes. The organization decided to go full retard. You know they were thinking that the more ridiculous the name the cooler it was. That is not the case.
