Get a tailgating lot if you want to hang out at the car and drink. There are only 2. The rest make you leave immediately.

First game though I'd take some road beers and soak in the battery. Walk around with a tall boy and then when that's finished get a drink at Terrapin.

Doubt there's a bad seat in the stadium. Everyone I've seen has good sight lines

I'm staying with my bro right off Cobb parkway. Literally 2 minutes from the field.

Sounds like you are walking so tailgating won't matter. No need to drive anyway with uber if you don't want to walk. The battery has the bars and food you want. The Live sports bar is awesome. PBR bar would probably be a good spot to go afterwards or Live again. If you want cheaper beers before or after Jocks and Jill's across the bridge to Cumberland offers that.

The Battery is only running on one cylinder right now but is still MUCH better than Turner field.

And then there is Doc's....

Nice info. Good ol docs lol. I lived right off Cumberland for about 3 years and waited tables at Scalinis for about a year and a half so I'm real fimilar with the local spots but just haven't seen the new stadium yet and how it fits in that area.

I saw it first being built but that was a while back. Just ready to see the whole thing.

Can't really walk though because we are heading out from around folks a couple miles down Cumberland and those hills would kick our arse, so will prolly uber and drink/smoke every chance possible. Will definitely check out the live sports bar for sure.

Thanks for the info flyAU.

Really old 20 years I think?

Beers in the battery are a bit more on gameday than non game days (i think). Jocks and jills is directly across the pedestrian bridge over 285. Only gets busy before or after a game but they do serve cheaper beer.

If you aren't walking then you have two options. Use one of the tailgate lots for a byob and food experience although that means you have to drive later on. Traffic is not bad leaving a game so don't let that sway you. It comes down to how many beers everyone is looking at consuming.

I personally take uber and go into the battery. You can walk around with beer and there is a lot to look at. Check the Roxy as well to see if any band you like is playing by chance. I don't like chancing a dui so uber is my choice (even though I love to tailgate) it's not worth the risk to me.

Terrapin taproom is another bar in the battery but you would have more fun in Live.

Older than that.

The one on 10th Street in Midtown was open in the early 90s. I graduated hs in '94 (damn I'm an old fart) and it was open when I was either a freshman or sophomore. So closer to 25 years? I don't remember if the one on 10th or the one at CNN was open first.

No need to buy an expensive ticket. You can sit pretty much where ever you want along the base lines.
Went for the first time on Sunday and the stadium was great. $5 12 oz domestics can you believe that?
Parking wasn't a problem what so ever

Went for the first time Saturday.

It was great. Traffic wasn't an issue, concessions we're surprisingly reasonable, great view, and the Braves won.

Can't wait for next time!
