He would come, but Arkansas won't go there. Ever.

Attn: Auburn lurkers... specifically to the one that states 'There's been multiple threads on their board wanting Arkansas to hire Gus. '

At least be truthful with your posts on your own board. There are two threads that mention 'Gus', one of which is sarcasm directed to YOU, the Aubbie Lurkers.

If you will read the responses and take a look at the up/downvotes of posts, I believe that even you can figure out the sentiment towards the prospect of Gus coaching at Arkansas. By and large, we don't want him.

Now, if you will relay that to your fellow Aubbies that either can't read or don't lurk, we would appreciate it. Okay, thanks.

to be fair the rotting corpse of an old baseball coach and a girls basketball coach are both also on my short list to lead the football program.

Well, I guess that makes 3, one of which is sarcasm. Only the two were visible on the front page.

Doesn't change the sentiment of 'how badly we want Gus.'

A lot of the Auburn posters on here aren't that bright so I wouldn't count on this.

There are about 3-4 months that no one talks about, that to me were the reason I hated Gus from the start.

I was no Nutt fan - I wanted him fired after 2003

BUT, weeks after Gus was hired in Dec 2005, on up to spring practice in 2006 (April I guess), all the pissing and moaning and whining from Malzahn FRIENDS ON MESSAGE BOARDS, about how he was "being treated"

Really? Intimate supposed information about what went on in coaching meetings. Who was the drama queen there? Gus was. That pussy arse wimp was running to message board buddies who were posting all this shite to the public.

If it wasn't him, who was it? Beck Campbell didn't know what was "going on in coaching meetings"

If he had not been such a slimeball about all that from the start, I might have been his biggest fan.

yup, and he snuck off without getting any crap stuck to him while we're left dealing with the drama and not to mention how he used the players to get the gig in the first place but poor gus was the mindset. that was my beef- that and his cult of fans, i legit hated them worse than i ever did gus.

his meh'ness the past few years has really helped me get past my gus fan hate tho. yep, they just killed us but that idiotic 'he's the best coach ever' is dead, as is the offensive genius (or should be). he's not even calling the plays now, he's basically just a figurehead making stupid faces on the sideline.

That sounds like a stretch. There isn't really any evidence that Gus was intentionally causing drama.

That said, I appreciate the attempt at an explanation

The drama turned me off him, but more than anything he just has a shady/POS air about him. Much like his buddy Freeze; everything seems ok on the surface, but something sure doesn't seem right.

This is exactly the type of recruiting tactics I want our coaching staff to be using

quote:

Remember Dyer

I remember Gus coming in and taking the top recruit out of our state...

quote:

Remember the Mitch Mustain fiasco

I remember Gus making him the top QB recruit in the nation then taking him to an 8-0 start in college

Are you sure you aren't trying to make a case for hiring Gus?
