Who do you want to see taking the first snap in the fall?

Personally, I want Allen to be there unless Mitchell is a LOT better than him. Starting Mitchell in a year that we all know isn't going to be stellar anyway seems like a waste to me. He's a senior and only has one year of eligibility left. Allen has 3. I think if they are neck and neck or even close in QB ability then you've gotta give it to Allen. Give the kid a year of experience so when we come back in 2014 we have an experienced QB rather than a 2 year benchwarmer. We've gotta get as many young guys experience as we can to prepare for the future. Starting Mitchell unless he is just head and shoulders above Allen doesn't accomplish much and is short sighted IMO.

I agree, make Allen Bielema's established quarterback for the future, and keep Mitchell at WR so Allen will have an experienced wide out to throw to.

How do we know this year won't be stellar?

We actually have a staff that gives a shite now...

Mitchell, because I think he is the best QB, and I think we will be better than expected next season.

We could, but it would be against all odds. We have inexperience at nearly every position other than D line. We have a VERY tough schedule. Every player on the team is shaking off bad habits from a year of lackadaisical practices. They're all learning a new system with new terminologies. I hope we have a great season but anything more than 6 or 7 wins is just icing on the cake for me next year. Im a natural pessimist though.

I want it to be whoever gives us the best performance on the field. I'm not particular who it is.

Brandon Mitchell for me. I'm sentimental and want to see him get his shot after passing up on a basketball scholarship and then biding his time his time for 4 years without transferring. I would just like to see him get his chance finally.

Same. Mitchell is a freak of an athlete and has a hell of an arm. Great character, put in his time on the bench. He deserves it.

With that said, we're going to suck next year. Five wins.

I'd probably say Mitchell too- I want to see him on the field anyway. I, also, think he's been a really good asset for us and repped the hogs well. What ever happened with those Facebook pics of a car or whatever it was towards the end of last season?

I heard about them, but never saw them. Nothing came of it. A bunch of unfounded rumors, I'm sure.

Eta: I heard those rumors originated on another board.

No they were real. Im assuming that is why he was suspended for a few games late last year.

I want whomever is the better QB, obviously. Mitchell has rep'd the school well and I like to see those kinds of guys get time, but he's going to play no matter what, I think.

Heard so many stories, didn't know which we're true, if any. The most serious allegation of his taking ownership of a car as a gift from an alumnus, I assumed was not true since I hadn't heard of any serious repercussions.

Well I doubt he was suspended from multiple games for nothing.
