Arkansas team Pts for/against ranks under Bielema, Petrino and Nutt (with bonus SMILE!) 4 years each, Nutt's last 4 years.

Average O and D will EXCLUDE 1st year for Petrino and Bielema since their first years were anomalously bad.

Bielema:

2016: Offense: 58th, Defense: 85th
2015: Offense: 27th, Defense: 68th
2014: Offense: 44th, Defense: 10th
2013: Offense: 106th, Defense: 89th

Average O: 43rd
Average D: 54th

Smile:

2012: Offense: 91st, Defense: 82nd

Petrino:

2011: Offense: 15th, Defense: 34th
2010: Offense: 17th, Defense: 47th
2009: Offense: 9th, Defense: 58th
2008: Offense: 91st, Defense: 94th

Average O: 14th
Average D: 46th

Nutt:

2007: Offense: 13th, Defense: 55th
2006: Offense: 31st, Defense: 24th
2005: Offense: 65th, Defense: 54th
2004: Offense: 33rd, Defense: 51st

Average O: 36th
Average D: 46th

Our team is doing worse both offensively and defensively on average under Bielema than under Nutt or Petrino. If it were not for the anomalously excellent performance in 2014 (LSU and Ole Miss shutouts) Our defensive pts allowed rankings would look completely fricking ridiculous.

Robb Smith likely needs to be sent to a firing squad. His performance as a defensive coordinator is that bad.

I think Willie Robinson deserves a lot more credit for the job he did with our defense than he gets.

Now, I want to look at our rushing attack for the same time period:

2016: 39.7 carries, 164.4 yards, 4.1 average
2015: 39.3 carries, 198.3 yards, 5.0 average
2014: 42.8 carries, 218.0 yards, 5.1 average
2013: 39.5 carries, 208.7 yards, 5.3 average
2012: 30.6 carries, 118.7 yards, 3.9 average
2011: 31.7 carries, 137.4 yards, 4.3 average
2010: 32.4 carries, 148.8 yards, 4.6 average
2009: 30.4 carries, 131.8 yards, 4.3 average
2008: 31.5 carries, 113.5 yards, 3.6 average
2007: 48.1 carries, 286.5 yards, 6.0 average
2006: 38.5 carries, 228.5 yards, 5.9 average
2005: 43.7 carries, 216.9 yards, 5.0 average
2004: 42.5 carries, 187.4 yards, 4.4 average

Our rushing attack this year was completely fricking terrible. Only John L. Smith and Bobby Petrino's 1st year were worse. Our rushing attack has gained fewer ypc every year under Bielema. We are a passing team. We need to plan accordingly.

I don't know why we can't just reload like Bama does when players leave early. It's a frickin mystery...

I'm curious as to how that relates to any fricking thing at all?

Robb Smith being a shite defensive coordinator has nothing to do with people leaving early. Bret Bielema underperforming Petrino and Nutt has zero to do with people leaving early.

We don't even have players that are good enough to leave early. We don't have schemes that allow what talent we do have to succeed.

Bobby fricking Petrino had a better rushing attack than we did this year with a god damned statue at QB.

nobody brought up petrino but you.he would have been on the hot seat or fired by now had he not got himself fired.probably the best thing that could have happened for him.

If there's one lesson I learned in 2016 it's that you should never underestimate just how fricking stupid some people are.

The studs that fit his system were gone and he was looking at similar results to what we have now.

He did pretty good with all that talent though.I'll give him that.

It looks to me like you are saying Bert has had a lot of talent. Why hasn't he done shite You can't tell me that an arse like Petrino has had more talent, yet can convince them to stay when all around good guy Bert can't

Would he have had rebuilding years of 7-5? Absolutely, without question

Would he have had another (or more) really good season by Arkansas standards in the last five years? Absofrickinglutely. Without question

ETA: He won 21 games in two years here. Fat frick has won 25 in four and is absolutely incapable of a decent season. Going 5-3 in the West last year was nice, but Toledo and Texas Tech will forever tarnish that season.
