Seriously, do our former players never have children or pass the talent down the gene pool?

It seems as if ever other school in the SEC has some superstar come through who they are a lock for because their dad or mom played back in the day for the school, yet Arkansas has had few notable recruits come through that fit this criteria.

The Bequette's and Hunter Henry are the only ones that come to my mind immediately.

You can add Dusty Hannah's to the list as well.

I guess Braylon Mitchell.

More of a question as why the really successful and memorable athletes from yesteryear either haven't produced top recruits down the line or if they did why they actively steered them away from the You of A (Conley).

A warning to the easily offended stop reading now....

The majority of the ones who were talented enough to produce offspring probably haven't seen said offspring since they made the deposit thus leaving children with great potential they never reach because they never knew, or never had a father to work with them.

RB Jeff Savage of Smackover is the uncle to incoming Jordan Jones. Savage has a son who played at Smackover a couple of years ago and he starts on the OL for ULM.

I can't really think of any others off hand. Run DMC has a ton of kids out there but not sure what ages.

Hopefully some of those DB's we had will have some kids come along...Hamlin, Kennedy, Barrett, some of those guys.

Didn't come to UA, but the son of Alvin Robertson and Patricia Johnson, a sprinter on the UA's lady track team, was given a little look by the UA coaching staff but not offered (I don't think), went to Arkansas State, did pretty well, got drafted by the NFL and played a few years.

Tyrell Johnson.

Most athletes are black

Most black people smart enough to graduate college get the hell out of Arkansas

Kids grow up with no ties to the school

Most people say he would have signed with Nolan/Mike A 100%. We probably would have gotten Odom too and then Sullinger as well.

Who the hell blames him for not signing with Heath? Besides he lived in Ohio since 7th grade. It's about 1/2 and 1/2.

I've actually thought about this a lot lately, but can't say it did any good. Conley was extremely disappointing to me, because his father had been so celebrated by Arkansas. Although Torii Hunter never attended Arkansas, I'm also disappointed that his son chose Notre Dame. I'm pretty sure there's another one that hasn't been mentioned in this thread, who always bothered me, but I can't remember who right now.

On the other hand, Jake Bequette is an example of one who did and his cousin would probably be here if we'd offered. There have been several who probably would have committed if we'd offered, but it just bugs me when those with great offer sheets choose to go elsewhere.
