I liked him at TT. Curious what others think.

He has now built up two hard to recruit programs to being top 10 teams. He knows how to build from the ground up.

He expects perfection, much like Petrino did. If his players don't perform well, he lets them know about it.
He's an offensive genius and seems to get the job done more times than not.

The recruiting would be my only question but he certainly is intriguing and would offer us something a lot of others couldn't.

For me, it was fun to watch his offense at TT. So, I'd agree with your points statement.

You go 3 and out 2 times in a row you do up downs on the sideline. We go 3 and out for an entire half. We give our team jelly sammichs.
Like others have said. Taken 2 different places to thier ceiling. Both places at thier floor before he got there. Expects perfection. 10x the coach we have now. Has recruiting ties to Texas. Sounds great.

At this point I'm ready to just say screw it and hire that cat from Pulaski Academy that just goes for it every time.

Losing to Portland State and Eastern Washington in consecutive years.

This is one of the biggest things with me. I'm not a huge Leach guy, but he'd help fumigate the losing culture and soft mentality that has been pervasive during the Bert era.
The video of him berating his team after beating Baylor back in 2009 was sort of striking.

We've got some players that need to be locked in a shed for awhile.

quote:did you see the talent he had on those teams? The year he lost to e Washington he still pulled some upsets because that team was about half his bit they were runny dog shite before he got there. Absolutely awful. And to answer the OP he's a guy that has proven he doesn't need top talent to win. He runs a system and he gets the guys he needs to execute it. He would be perfect for here

Petrino showed everyone the blueprint for winning here. Our recruiting base sucks pecker, SO we need an offensive minded coach that can outscheme other teams offensively and a coach that demands perfection from his players.
Leach fits those qualifications. Plus, I love his quirkiness.
Long will probably bring Jim Grobe back from retirement. frick me.
ETA: I've always liked Leach.

Everyone should see Leach's team scolding after the Baylor game: Leach doesn't like pussies....

They actually lost to Eastern Washington last year, his 5th year there. The Portland State loss was the year before, his 4th season. I can understand those losses in year 1 or 2, but those teams were pretty much his by that point.
Sure, he went 8-5 last year, but they only beat one power 5 team with a winning record (Stanford). They lost to every other team with a pulse.
I'll agree that it would be a fun ride, but those are some red flags in looking at his record.
