I don't like how Collins looks with the added weight compared to last year. He's still very shifty and a good back overall, but he is clearly a lot less quick. Takes him longer to get going and I think his straight line speed has fallen off some too. Last year he scores on that run.

The guy that caught him runs a 4.3 40. He would have gotten caught last year too.

Last year he doesn't break the first tackle on that run.

I love how Herbert and Bert have turned us into a Big Ten team that can't run or finish slugfest games because we're tired.

Doubt it. He never had much separation on runs from my memory

Yeah, he always seemed to go down at first contact last year, this year he has yards after contact and has driven piles forward.

He's never had top end speed, he was ran down several times last year as well.

Is no one else remembering howhe went down at the weakest ankle tackles last year? He might have lost some speed but he's still got plenty and he's much better after contact. He could still improve a lot but he's better this year than last. Except for his damn fumbling problems.

He is a much more physical runner this year but he needs to get better at holding onto the rock.

Fair enough, but you can build a stronger lower body without putting on as much weight and bulking up as much as he did.

I've been throwing quite a bit of shade at Ben Herbert tonight, but I really am worried that he's just building a team full of gymrat lifters who can't run for shite.

It wins games in the Big Ten when you're playing in cold as balls weather, but it gets you get A LOT against deep teams that can run.

Collins got run down time and again last year. Weight or not, he wasn't scoring at that run.

Bust of the year.

He didn't do shite this year, and it's almost sad when you think about how much he was hyped up coming into the season.

My post was more about Herbert's S&C program than Collins.

We look slow as shite and have no speed whatsoever on offense. Heck, even Ellis' interception should have been a pick 6 and he got run down at the 40, but I'll overlook that one because of his injury.

Worst pre-season hype up was Kniles' return.
