LINK

Likely 4 wins total with the SEC only above 50% chance of beating Mizzou at 79%

Only 39% at Ole Miss...

I don't pay attention to much of espn anymore.

They even have the big boy pants index now.

If we want Bert gone I don't think we want more than 5-6 wins this season. I'd say 5 and no bowl eligibility to be safe.

Won't happen. We went to a bowl last year and the two previous years, he'll hang his hat on that and call it a rebuilding year.

It will take 2 back to back losing seasons to get him fired.

Don't care what the ITK tards say here. No one is forking over $15 million after one losing season and a bunch of super risky prosepective coaches on the board.

We need to chill with all these obscure up and comer suggestions, its not happening.

If we win 5 or less and Bert isn't gone Jeff better have his resume ready because everybody who has said the 15 mil is there is connected to the Athletic department in one way or another. There is a lot more turmoil in our big 2 than you even know.

Turmoil in basketball?

It will take a huge move to get him out, even if we only win 5 games. You're crazy to think otherwise, especially without another proven head coach out there that is likely to step up.

Well, I'm not "connected" just hearing a few things.

as said previous by others, I have heard about Jerry not liking CBB and Long, and that the money is available if we want it.

But with conditions.

And as said other places, that CBB has been given a number that he must win this year and next combined in order to stay.

And the one I lean most to believe. He isn't going anywhere with this buyout and his assistants pay.

I don't think he will be gone even with 5 wins alone. Not yet.

I actually mostly believe everything that I've seen you write Rev... but when the number of really active posters here is X and the percentage of guys "connected" is half, it's hilarious.

Exactly. Are we trying to become Hogville 2.0 over here?

Ohh, I get it... I wish I could tell a few stories I have seen through the past few years.. Perhaps one day.

And I am in no way a wealthy connected person. I have just been in the right place at times with my occupation and aiding in fundraising etc. Sometimes it isn't who you are, but simply who you are around.

I do know for a fact this... The heat is being felt by CBB and now a bit by Long. Still not enough for a change yet. But I laughed at the coaches hot seat ranking today, look it up.

I spoke to a man Sunday who is very connected and he is not ready for CBB to go yet. There is a fear that "If he came from an established program, with a pedigree and cant get it done here, who can"? I hate this, "Little ole Arkansas attitude, because I do believe there is a few out there who not only can win here, but will.

BMFP could.

They're out there, just have to go through the proper vetting and make a smart decision without bias. Like we did with BMFP.

I'd give Sarkisian another shot. F-it.

There is no chance on Sark or BP ever being at Arkansas...

I get your point though. Some would go for Kiffen although he has burned down Tenner, left Bama with some stains, and has been a PR nightmare everywhere until now.

We have one now?

Sark wouldn't even come here anyway.

Judging by this past weekend, I would say so.

"THE BACK-UP QB IS BETTER!!!"
"FIRE LONG"
"FIRE BERT"
"I'M IN THE KNOW!!!!"

The buyout drops to $11.7M on January 1st.

To get to 6 wins, we have to win THREE SEC Games.

Here are our remaining SEC opponents:

Alabama
Auburn
LSU
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Missouri
South Carolina

If you see more than one likely win, you're pretty fricking delusional at this point. I'll concede that LSU is probably a 50/50 at this point.

2-6 in the SEC in year 5 and he's fricking gone.

He's been 0-8, 2-6, 5-3 and 3-5 in the SEC.

Through 5 years, Danny fricking Ford went 16-24-1 in the SEC with one SEC Championship game appearance.

Right now Bret is 10-23.

If he wants to equal Danny fricking Ford, he's got to win 6 SEC games this year.

DANNY MOTHERfrickING FORD.

Kinda the same case here, except my grandparents were some fairly big admin positions employed at the UofA (not big donors or anything) that became friends with some of the big donors over time.

Like I said in another thread, the info flowed like the Mississippi during the Nutt era but has slowed to a trickle under Long. He took extra measures to distance himself from the more opinionated and big-mouthed VIPs and surrounded himself with more tight lipped individuals.

That being said, one of the FEW concrete things that has gotten out over the last few weeks is that the buyout 1000% does not hinder any moves from being made, it's nearly common knowledge at this point. CBB may get another season, but it's solely based off the coaching market and whether or not improvement is clearly possible.

There are 100% "powerful" and "important" people trying to pull some strings right now but I don't think anyone outside of that tight circle knows anything further. I don't think Long is in any kind of trouble unless he completely goes rogue and ignores what the masses are demanding.
