Is this the best thing ever? Are we living in the future?

I know it spread throughout NWA very recently.

For those not familiar, you shop online, with your credit card information stored. You can shop anything that is sold in a Neighborhood Market.

A day later, you pull up, dial a number on your cell phone, and a friendly human brings your groceries out and helps you load them into your car. And you just drive away.

I've done it three times already. It's the best.

Sounds fun. I can't wait until we get it in 2020.

They have already started expanding the pick up shopping. Can't remember where exactly. A couple more in NWA and some in different states. Should have paid more attention...

Did it at sams club but i had to go in and wait for someone to verify it.

It should get better as they do it more though.

This is totally different from the Sam's online shopping. You park in one of four designated "pickup" parking spots, and they wheel it to the curb and have you sign for it, like when UPS comes. They load it in your car and off you go.

The second time I did it, they were literally standing at the curb with my stuff when I pulled up. Next step delivery, although I don't know how it will work since there's almost never anybody at my house.

How is something you have to wait over 24 hours for the best thing ever?

Maybe the Clunk dude will start a grocery delivery service. Have items at your door step in under an hour.

It's better for grocery lists. Not something you need that day. Save you hours on your weekend. Not for everyone but it has its nitch.

Well, because rather than making a list and going shopping, you can add items to your order as you think of them over the course of a few days. Then, instead of deciding to go to the grocery store one day and spending 30 minutes walking around filling a cart, checking out and hauling it to your car, you just show up, wait about 5 minutes and then leave.

It's highly preferable to regular grocery shopping, which I hate. With this, I tend to make fewer trips to the store, and buy more at once, just because no matter how much I buy, I don't have to do anything except unload it from my truck when I get home.

Yep. Plus, rather than going to a store and not knowing where that one damned special thing is located in an aisle, I just type it into a search bar and add it to my cart. Boom. If it isn't available, the site suggests alternatives or substitutes.

By shopping online from home, I can check in real time, whether I have an item, what I need, and what I might need in a few days. It's great.

Legit as frick!

I haven't shopped for groceries any other way in a month.

Another NWA perk

I can understand that. I inevitably always forget one of the staple things I went to the store to get in the first place because my lizard brain gets distracted by some goodie that I don't even need or want but buy a couple of them anyways.

I'm a big fan, I use it for the family grocery list about once a week or so. Out here they also have a delivery service that will bring your order to your house for $3. Our Walmart isn't too far so we use the pickup since its free.

I don't know how long it will last though, I've never seen anyone else in the pickup spots at my store and I'm on a first name basis with the guy who brings groceries out because he says there are only about 2 pickup orders a day.

People are using the hell out of it in E. Fayetteville. Today there were 3 of 4 spots full when I went. The second time I was there, the guy said "today was our first day with every time slot booked solid". They were struggling to keep up.

That is the Question.

Sounds like a ok program for disabled people, but I will openly laugh when I see some metro sexual dude sitting in his Miata, waiting for some 16 kid to load his groceries.

Sounds like you are one of those lazy sumbitches, or disabled. Which one is it?

Have you ever had a pizza delivered?

Or have you ever eaten food that you didn't cook and prepare yourself?

I'm a consumer, and thus a creative maximizer of my own utility.

So you do things the hardest way, like hand-saw logs and walk to work. Or do you just really enjoy "going shopping"?

So...are you dumb, or gay or both?

What a weird thing to start a weak rant over. What man enjoys walking into a store to buy groceries? And this option keeps my wife from buying a bunch of crap that wasn't on the list.
