I see a few kind words, but the funny part is that some of their more vitriolic posters seem to think that Virginia Tech's opponent in the fricking Belk Bowl is an issue of national interest that will "move the needle" if they play a team with brand recognition.

What have you seen from our team that would demand respect? 7 - 5 in a down year for our conference and a historically bad defense.

I get that, I'm saying it's funny that VT fans are acting like anyone gives a shite about who they play in the Belk Bowl.

they lost to tennessee, syracuse, and georgia tech. Then played clemson close. So idk what to think about that.

Sounds like they have about as much respect for our team as many of the posters on this board.....damn you guys are depressing right now.....cheer the frick up.

i don't really blame them for not having too much respect for playing us in the bowl game considering how our season played out. that said, they also made it to the amazing super awesome belk bowl so the feeling is mutual as far as i'm concerned.
as for as being a national brand- meh, they could do much worse than us. we're no bama but not chopped liver either and we're historically higher thought of than vt so...
