Next month should be a big jump too as HS grads officially enter the workforce.

The data is somewhat misleading, the economy is not doing particularly well in the Arkansas Delta for example. But you can't walk out the door without getting a job offer in NWA and parts of the Little Rock area.

I work from home because of a medical condition, otherwise I don't think I'd be able to stroll over to the corner store without landing a job here in Fayetteville.

So many places in NWA are having a hard time finding unskilled labor or skilled manual labor in particular. Every construction site has a jobs banner out, and several businesses around town do too. NWA's unemployment is almost too low right now. I think it is 2.8%.

Little Rock seems to be doing better, after a stagnant couple of years.

This. Anyone unemployed in the Delta needs to get up to NWA and get themselves some of these $12+/hour unskilled jobs they have up here. Not the greatest money, but better than being unemployed.

I suppose that's a matter of perspective. Probably not so much to the new job holders who are putting food on the table and keeping a roof over their f families' head.

Well, yeah. From a "healthy economy standpoint". Companies trying to grow can be stunted by the lack of available qualified employees. We're in that territory right now.

I own a Web Development company lol I literally had to stop taking jobs in February because we didn't have the manpower. No more work 1 extra hour a day. I working on weekends

I had a conversation with a past client where he was willing to pay 100% in advance on a 17,000 dollar job that I had to turn away because we could not take it in good faith, and that business sense is why he was willing to pay 17k without us doing anything in the first place. That was a very odd conversation lol

I ended up having him wait a month then paying it.

Americans are lazy and dumb they don't want to learn shite. If you know your shite and will work via it it's never been a better time to be alive.

Just released today....

Over 500,000 Americans stopped looking for work in the last month. Like I said discouraged workers are likely at an all-time high.

Labor participation is under 63%. The Labor participation rate over today and a year ago are the lowest it's been in our country since the early 80's.

labor participation rate chart

I don't know how with a labor participation rate that has almost 40% of the population missing equates to an unemployment rate of 4.7%

That math doesn't add up.

unemployment rate chart

We're pretty insulated right now in NWA but other parts of the country are in really bad shape and a country is only as strong as its weakest links.

C,

The questions you are asking are answered in your own link.

The false assumption you are making that there must be an increase in discouraged workers that is driving the drop in unemployment is disproven in your own link that you provided.

The rules regarding the calculation of the unemployment rate have not changed for decades if ever, therefore it is relative and comparable to economic performance during previous administrations.

There are very positive economic events that drive down the labor participation rate that keeps being brought up by republicans as a negative statistic in terms of employment.

The baby boomer demographic is obviously the biggest factor in driving down the participation rate. Add on top of that people that are now able to retire early because they have the money to do so. That is not a negative outcome of the economy, it's everyone's goal.

You have to quit looking for work for a month in order not to be counted in the unemployment numbers. I learned that from your link, thanks.

Who the frick is going to quit looking for a job and just starve to death because they've become "discouraged".

If voters would reason honestly instead of having a competition to see who can best cover up or spin facts into lies,

maybe the pubs wouldn't have a complete embarrassing narcissistic lunatic destroying your party.

You can thank Fox News for that. It took three decades but they finally managed to cultivate a fairly large block of society that are so brainwashed and gullible now that they can't separate fact from fiction.
