Their Bench outscored our bench.

Outscored us by 8 points at the freethrow line.

Outrebounded us..

Kingsley is really good. Dusty needs to get more consistent, Macon is a streaky shooter. Thomas is a very good athlete. All in all, about what I expect from a season opener.

A lot better than last year's season opener against Akron. I'll take the W, but we absolutely need to show improvement this year.

Pretty impressed with Macon, Barford seemed jittery but showed flashes. He had a meltdown where he missed a layup, then turned the ball over, then got an intentional foul that got him benched for a long time. Can't afford to do that shite once we hit the meat of our schedule. Hopefully he learns to control himself better.

Kingsley had a great game, I think he finished with 7 blocks. Dustin Thomas had a scary fall that could have broken his neck but came back and looked solid. He looks promising.

Beard had a good game all around, Dusty couldn't get in a rhythm, he showed some smoothness inside but he was pretty cold from 3. Manny made some great plays. Only big negative for the night was Fort Wayne getting second chance points. Can't let that become a trend.

Overall I'm impressed, we have a lot of talent on this team and a lot of great pieces. Plus Fort Wayne is supposed to be pretty good so I'm glad we started with a decent team to figure out some wrinkles. Only gonna get better from here.

Just a few games has reminded me how much college officiating blows. Knock the NBA all you want, but it isn't a foul showcase.

I've been critical of Beard in the past but he looked a lot better than he did at any point last year. Hope he can keep it up.
