3 out of 4 Class 4A semifinalist are from NWA.
Prairie Grove
Pea Ridge
Shiloh
Are the best teams in the classification.
It always used to be that NWA teams would get crushed by South Arkansas schools. In any sport that long drive across the state would only be longer by the long drive back after the game and getting raced off the field/court by the better athletes from the delta and southern border areas.

I took a quick look at who won the state titles last year and I only see one NWA team. Fayetteville. Could this just be a one year thing?

Now don't mess him up with facts.

Go Blackhawks. I'll be in LR Friday.

Titletown will be back next year. Don't ever count out a scrapper.

Lol right. Now what I can admit is that NWA has dominated the highest classification from what I see.

History is meaningless here. It's all about the future and lack of one for the Wasteland.

Didn't Warren beat the brakes off of Prairie Grove
On another note, Hampton made the finals. They didn't field a team last year and their head coach passed away mid season.

Fully legalize weed. Grow it in that rich Delta soil.

It appears that Treylon Burks basically beat them by himself.

Yep, Fayetteville had the better team last night, no doubt.
Turnovers killed any chance NLR. Should have been closer though.
If NWA is that dominant though, why wasn't Bentonville or Springdale in the game instead of NLR? Why was Bryant in the semis? Both of them are coming on and will have to be dealt with in the playoffs regularly.

Going back to the 2010 season, 12 of the last 14 teams to play in the 7A state title game have been from NWA. 20 of 28 teams to make the semifinals during that time period are from NWA. I definitely wouldn't use 7A as your barometer for equality.

Since realignment into 7A, half of the state's 7A teams are in NWA metro. NWA schools also have a lot of new money and involved parents.
There are only 5 7A teams in Central Arkansas now.
This really isn't all that surprising.

Some of it is just enrollment. NWA schools grew later and grew larger. Little Rock split their schools up too much, trying to figure out the desegregation stuff. They need to re-align and invest in maybe 3 large high schools.
Bentonville was in the championship game every year from 2010-14. That's insane.
But it makes a lot of sense when you realize that if they hadn't split the school this year, Bentonville High would have an enrollment of 3400 students. That's 1000 more students in 10-12 than the next largest school in the state, Springdale HarBer.
Of the schools big enough to be 7A, the only ones in Central Arkansas are:
Bryant
Cabot
Conway
LR Central
North Little Rock
Catholic (by multiplier)
Not a lot to work with outside of NWA.

That would instantly be another 7A school for Central Arkansas.

So true. Eastern and south AR are full of your Joe Adams types and NWA is full of your Brooks Ellis types.

NWA is full of pre-med, 2x Academic All-American types?
