Ok, historically we're the 8th best team in the SEC in AP poll finishes.

Alabama, Florida, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Texas A&M are ahead of us.

Now, of those 7 teams, how many of them would you trade straight up for their coach?

Two. The HC talent in the SEC is so down right now. I'd trade him for more than two coaches in the B1G, ACC and PAC-12.

Most sec coaches this year, not named Saban, had disappointing seasons this year.

We actually finished about where the experts thought we would. That doesn't make it any less hard to take, but we were retooling alot of positions.

That being said, our defense has got to get much better or we will never compete in this league...

Agreed.

I've been off the Bert bandwagon for good since Auburn, but I'd only trade him for two or three coaches in the SEC (Saban, Mullen and Malzahn) because the level of coaching talent in this conference is the lowest it's been since 2004.

I'd trade him for several coaches from the Big Ten, and for 3/4s of the coaches in the Pac-12. Heck, I'd trade him for 5 coaches in the Big 12 (Stoops, Gundy, Herman, Patterson and maybe Holgorsen).

Yeah, sorry, I guess Florida owns Tennessee so badly that they replaced them in my mind.

Herman hasn't done anything yet... imho. Holgorsen, no way....

Think about all of those you would trade for and why...

I'd rather have Herman's upside and his pedigree, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Ohio State's offense has taken a pretty big step back since he left for Houston.

I italicized the "maybe" when referencing Holgorsen because he's been so up and down at WVU, and he's also a bit of a crazy person.

I'm basically being asked if I'd like to trade in my 1997 Daewoo Lanos for a 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

1 for sure obviously, 2 at the most. That doesn't really make me feel better though, weak group after Saban.
