If you have kids in diapers, don't let them swim where they can crap in swimming pools. Simple fix.

I grew up swimming in rivers around paper mill towns, so when I swim in a north Arkansas lake, I feel like I'm in a big chlorinated swimming pool.

Not use to standing in waist deep water and being able to see my swim trunks, much less my feet.

The good thing about it though is that E.coli couldn't survive in the water I swim in.

We had our neighborhood lake closed last season due to an E. coli detection...

As a POA we had cleaned up the swimming area the week prior using rakes and other tools to clear out weeds and such. This stirred up the E. coli that is probably in every lake in the country

Surprised Beaver Fork isn't on the list. Usually, they've got the most goose poop out of all & stay closed most of the summer. ... Totally sucks about Greers Ferry since we're about to head that way to my aunt & uncle's house on the Little Red. We usually take the boat out to the lake.

pro-tip: swimming anywhere in Arkansas is cool and fun and if you don't do it then I'm sorry you hate the outdoors
