Any recommendations on a semi-nice place in Springdale, that I can take a few folks out tonight?

I've usually just hit the chains or bbq places previously, but was wondering about a place with a local "flair".. Sorta in the $15-30 entree range,,, and, ftr, I do love bobby q, and that's fine by me..

Would also be nice to be close to the DoubleTree.
Merci...

I pretty much only eat ethnic food when in Springdale. Taco joints, Indian, and Thai all have it going on there. Can't really recommend much else.

If you want nicer, you can hit 540, head south 1 exit, and eat at James at the Mill in Johnson which is going to be as closer or closer than anywhere else near you. It still fits in your price point. I, personally, think the cuisine still holds up, though Chef does still love to plate vertically, which is annoying to me.

You could also head west on 412 toward Tontitown and eat at Venetian Inn or Mama Z's, which are kind of "local favorites." I haven't personally eaten at either of them within the last 20 years, so I can't speak to their quality.

Oh. And eat breakfast at Susan's in the morning.

I don't eat in Springdale much but if you go west on hwy 412 (Sunset) for about 5 miles you can eat at the Venesian Inn in Tontitown. Its a pretty good Italian joint thats been there for 70 years and is a bit casual but the food is very good. It sounds wierd but "Chicken and Spaghetti" is their signature dish.

Springdale

Do you not have modern transportation to leave the confines of the city?

For a local flair you might visit the original AQ Chicken. Been around so long it is hard for me to think about Springdale without thinking about it.

Edit-Porker's suggestion is good too--has been around a long time and always gets good reviews. I guess the Venetian Inn has been gone for awhile? It was one of the two good Tontitown Italian places.

Are you taking out people who actually live in the area?

Are you trying to impress these people with a dining experience?

If no to the first and yes to the second, I honestly recommend James at the Mill. It gets a bad rap by locals because it's been around so long, but the food is damned solid. The location is cool/pretty as well. It IS white tablecloth, though. That doesn't mean you have to wear a suit and tie or anything (it's freaking Arkansas after all), but it's not some mom and pop joint.

Yeah. It's pretty regionally famous as the best breakfast in the region. Weekends the wait can be insane, but you should be able to get in and out alright during the week.

hf, not trying to impress at all. Have em' from all over the country,, including Ca.
Known most for several years,,, just when we get out, we try and do "local", if possible.

I'd probably do one of the Italian joints (Venetian Inn or Maery Maesters) or James at the Mill.

James at the Mill's chef, Miles James, invented Ozark Plateau cuisine, elevating local classics like chicken fried steak.

I'd get online and check out the menus of the three places, and you'll be able to pretty much tell which flavor is going to appeal to your group.

Let us know where you choose and how it turns out.

Get the chicken fried steak at Susan's. Go to Venesian Inn for dinner if you don't want to leave Springdale

James at the Mill makes a good ribeye.

Get a salad. It's always interesting to see people's reaction to how they send a salad out.

I know it is too late to matter but Market Place Grill is decent.

Venesian Inn and Mama Z's are so so, I eat at one or the other every week so I may be burned out. The chicken parm at the Venesian is my favorite dish there. The brown beans and ham at Mama Z's is really good. Marie Maestri's is ok. (The spaghetti at all 3 is interchangeable to me).

Susan's is good, best chicken fried steak in town. Overall, Susan's > Neal's cafe, and it's not close.

R&R Curry on Sunset is good if you like Indian food.

Charly's taqueria is my favorite taqueria in Springdale.

I prefer letting a can of beanie weenie's sit on my dash most of the day and then eating em up under the A&M railroad trellis and hawk lugies on passing cars.

It's especially fun to try and time it to spit over the tracks and nail the car on the other side.

Well, it turned out to be quite a bit cheaper than what I had prepared for,, due to some youngsters in the group.
There were several snafus that kept us from going to one of the places y'all mentioned, one being that a young feller forgot to pack a certain belt that he thought he had to have for today and one goober was going on vacation next week and packed 2 bags, but only put his underwear in the vacation bag. Soo, they decided to eat somewhere close to the Fayetteville Mall, where a certain kind of dress belt and some brand of fancy drawers could be purchased at Dillards.
Anyway, they spotted the Las Huertas Messicun Grill & Bar place or something like that, and we decided to eat messicun and drink margy ritas. Margy ritas were pretty good, the guacamole was EXCELLENT, but I don't remember my enchiladas or anything else standing out.
Was a good, cheap night for the "ole man".
Just crossed back across the state line a while back,, didn't even have to fire a shot in 3 days..
